After reading the FDA warning, I discontinued to let my child be vaccinated by Rotateq. She already had her first shot but I discontinued anyways. If ever she'll catch rotavirus, the worst case scenario is dehydration which can be managed. The risk of INTUSSUSCEPTION is far more lethal!

Guys, here's another disturbing news. Rotateq, the new rotavirus vaccine proves to be not so safe after all. INITIAL studies and trials of the vaccine were did not include any reports of increased intussusception after vaccine administration. Over 3.5 million doses of the new vaccine have been given to children since its release.

There have been reports of stomach condition as adverse reactions but none that have caused the FDA to look into it, UNTIL NOW.
28 cases of infants and toddlers needed intestinal surgery after receiving the Rotateq vaccine prompted the latest warning from FDA.

Newly vaccinated infants have been admitted with life-threatening twisting of the intestines. This serious condition is intussusception and is New Rotavirus Vaccine Danger - the reason why the original rotavirus vaccine (Rota Shield) was pulled from the market in 1999.

Guys, who of you prefers to use the symbols (+,-,etc) in the equations? My daughter seems to understand the equation better if the symbols are on. I think it is better if the child sees an associated symbol when we say "plus", "minus" because she can connect what she hears to a visual. Same as she connects the dots to what she hears me say. It works for us!
