laidalays - Almond milk totes many benefits (rich in vitamin D and E, omega fatty acids and low in cholesterol), but also high amounts of allergens (very high in salicylates and problematic proteins, considered a priority allergen by many countries with a 37% likelihood of a person being allergic). Soy milk also contains proteins that many find difficult to digest or lead to even more severe problems, but its salicylate levels are negligible, so I would advise soy milk as the safer option. Keep in mind however that both almonds (grouped in the category of 'tree nuts') and soy are both in the top 9 allergens to watch out for by paediatricians Unfortunately I only know about this because I'm extremely allergic to lots of different foods! Cheers, Shuki

Wow, Vedic Maths is incredible! I've never had so much fun, I couldn't stop until I finished all the tutorials and I wanted to keep going afterwards . Kumon also teaches many of the Vedic Math methods, as I remember doing those exercises when I was growing up, but I think the drilling method imposed by Kumon turned me off as a child Karma to you guys! After a bit of practice I've worked out a way to make her spin whichever way I want too I look down so that I can just see her extended arm and leg in my upper peripheral vision, and then trace their movements so that to me, they appear to be going clockwise or anti-clockwise. Then I look up and there she goes! I find it difficult to switch her direction without looking away though. Shuki

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Re: How do I make a successful upload?

Hi winth, I'd just like to inquire regarding your 'Colours in Japanese' upload. I've noticed there are some inconsistencies with the words, as you've combined borrowed (katakana) forms, adjectival forms (赤い), noun form (くろ), hiragana form (はいいろ), and selective kanji (e.g. 白 for white but not 黒 for black). If you would like to edit them and kindly re-upload, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll write out a list of forms so you may choose which format you wish to apply: | // | KATAKANA | ADJECTIVAL | NOUN (dictionary form) | HIRAGANA (adjectival / noun) | ROMAJI (romanised) | | RED | レッド | 赤い | 赤 | あかい / あか | akai / aka | | BLUE | ブルー | 青い | 青 | あおい / あお | aoi / ao | | YELLOW | イェロー | 黄色い | 黄色 | きいいろい / きいろ | kiiroi / kiiro | | ORANGE | オレンジ | 橙色 | 橙色 | だいだいいろ / だいだいいろ | daidaiiro / daidaiiro | | PINK | ピンク | 桃色 | 桃色 | ももいろ / ももいろ | momoiro / momoiro | | GREY/GRAY | グレイ | 灰色 | 桃色 | はいいろ / はいいいろ | haiiro / haiiro | | PURPLE | パープル | 紫色 | 紫 | むらさきいろ / むらさき | murasakiiro / murasaki | | GREEN | グリーン | 緑 | 緑色 | みどり/ みどりいろ | midori / midoriiro | | WHITE | ウァイト | 白い | 白 | しろい / しろ | shiroi / shiro | | BROWN | ブラウン | 茶色 | 茶色 | ちゃいろ / ちゃいろ | chairo / chairo | | BLACK | ブラック | 黒い | 黒 | くろい / くろ | kuroi / kuro |
Hope that helps, Shuki edit: added ROMAJI as well on lappy's suggestion. Also sorry nikki, I keep taking down files you've approved hope you don't mind!

Hi winth, In order to maintain the quality of the files that users upload, each file must be reviewed and approved by a moderator before they are included in the File Downloads area. With regards to your upload, it has not been approved due to spelling errors. Specifically, the hiragana characters for 9 and 10 are きゅう and じゅう, respectively. Kindly correct these mistakes and re-upload. Shuki edit: Oh sorry nikki i didn't see your reply
