we use them as supplements or in place of textbooks. we are trying to go digital so this allows me to download them to a flashdrive for the students.

going paperless is so much fun.I am cleaning out the library. I am scanning and scanning all kinds of children's work. It is great to final organize all of this stuff instead of having 15-20 boxes laying around. of course i have created a back up system to just in case the digital content gets gone. but anyway i am going to upload a video to see what i am doing to go paperless. if you want to join me on this adventure let me know.

as I was searching for measuring examples for the homeschool contest I come across this site I found it very useful so I hope you like it too. http://depts.washington.edu/pku/management/curriculum/index.html I mentioned the measuring unit in the homeschooling contest post. I can see how that I can use this in my co-op.

A list of activites example are;
measuring water into measuring cups and graphing the results from various sizes of measuring cups
measuring ingredients for baking gingerbread men or in this case shamrock cookies

I myself with teaching my preschoolers is that the more hands on stuff you have the busier you are and the more the kids enjoy learning. As you know LO's love getting their hands on everything so there fore using that to your advantage is the key. Having workboxes or centers as some call them set up around the room is a great way to learn. We set down on the carpet for instruction time or theme study time, and then go to the centers one by one. The children have partners and a card that is stamped when they go from center to center. as they are at the centers music is played with a time once the time usually 10 minutes is up the groups of children rotate to the centers. when the groups have visited every center they return to their seats for arts and crafts.

I am hoping to get thing down to my childrens level but even then my highschoolers love it.

Hopfully to begin soon creating, it will virtually based with a printable work book. This we are using for our homeschool career portfolios and has come in handy.

DO YOU USE OR CREATE OR MAKE WORKBOXES FOR YOUR TOTS? Workboxes are boxes put together with hands-on items, games, etc. Sorting animals, puzzles, button games, etc. If you would like to learn more about workboxes well as I am familiar calling them centers, then please post ideas and or pictures of your centers or workboxes.
