I'm at the other end in Trinidad. We do go often to Denver to see my mom. I lived there for 7 years and love it. You live in such nice part of the state. My brother went to CU Boulder, sow e were there often.

Regarding YBCR, you will be surprise how much they really know from the exposure, sometimes they just don't want to show off, but when you less expected they do. My dd is 21 months old and I'm surprise and how many words she can read, including words that we didn't repeat over and over. She liked YBCR when she was little, but around 9 months she didn't want to do anything with it. On the other hand with LR, she has been watching it since she was 6 months old, and loves it! We travel a lot, so we don't do the program every day, but again, I'm surprise on how much she knows.  Just keep it up, I'm sure your dd one day will just surprise you too!

Me alegra que estes tan interesada en la educacion de tu bebe. En cuanto a lo que se distrae, trata de poner las presentaciones de LR en autoforward con eso cambian solas y quiza como es tan rapido tu bebe no tenga tiempo de distraerse. Para el de multisensoy puedes tratar de usar quiza un mouse wireless con eso lo puedes manipular desde un lugar que tu bebe no lo vea. Son solo un par de ideas.

Nosotros igual decidimos exponer a nuestra hija a Mandarin y Aleman aparte del Ingles y el Espanol, que son las dos lenguasque hablamos en casa. Entonces trato de mostrarle materiales en aleman lunes y miercoles y en Mandarin Martes y Jueves. Ella es totalmente bilingue en Espanol e Ingles, pero como no hablamos ni Aleman ni Mandarin, no sabemos que tanto ella sabe esos idiomas. Eso si sus videos favoritos con Muzzy en Aleman y ella repite mucho lo que va viendo, entonces nos imaginamos que si ha aprendido.

Bueno espero que esto te ayude un poco. De todas maneras puedes buscar ams informacion en el foro con "languages" y veras que te sale muchisima informacion.

I was at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day and they are selling the YBCR set for $99. It doesn't have all the same materials that the set they sell in the website comes with, but I think it is a good option for people that may not have the $199 that the Deluxe set costs. Also it you receive their coupons in the mail and you have a store near to you, you could save 20% which will bring it down to $80. You can't beat that. El shortcut lo saque de "Little Reader Library" cuando le das click ahi puedes ver donde estan los "foreign language downloads" y ahi buscas la carpeta se "Spanish". Ahora para pdoerlos ver si necesitas el LR, pero puedes bajar algunas presentaciones que usualmente estan en powerpoint en donde dice "free downloads".

En cuanto al curriculo saunier tradujo en categorias de LR y el ya lo tradujo completamente.

Ahora del karma, debajo del nombre de cada persona vez donde dice karma y hay un + y un - pues puedes dar karma negativo tambien, para que el karma cuente tienes que darle click en el signo + o -.

No me vas a creer pero hasta hoy vi tu post que me enviaste en Marzo  Disculpame que nunca te lo conteste, pero creo que a este punto tu ya encontraste todas las respuestas pues tus categorias, una vez mas, son increibles. Yo le habia estado mostrando a Valerie las categorias y le encantan, claro que tuve que parar pues ya finalmente este Sabado nos mudamos, estoy feliz pues va a tener ella una buena area para todo su aprendizaje y ya me voy a organizar mucho mejor. No sabia que estabas trabajando en playlist, de verdad que te admiro, creo que hay muy como padres en este foro tan dedicados como tu.

Thank you so much for the link. It looks like a really good resource. I'm going to try it with my dd and I'll let you know how she does. It may be good for adults. I'm not too sure about kids, but we'll give it a try.

I want this! However, does it really say it is $3,435 is that is pesos, which translates to $267 American Dollars? Yikes.

I'm almost sure those are mexican pesos and I have to agree it is kind of expensive. The advantage is to have the books and the flash cards already made, but as 2010BEBES said, with LR you can pretty much have that in any language, as long as someone is willing to translate the categories.

For the people interested in YBCR in Spanish, they now have it available at http://www.tubebelee.com/index.htm  I have not ordered it, so I can't speak about the quality, but it seems to be the same products than the kit in English.

Thank you for sharing your experience, even though I"m sure it was very hard. I said this because I was just talking to my friends about this and that I'll tell all my friends once I got pregnant with my second baby. My thought was that if something happen the parents will have more of a support system, but now that you mentioned about explaining everybody it may end up being harder. My guess is I'll do it the same way we did it the first time around: we told our parents, siblings and closest friends.
