I try to save a set time in the morning for learning, because I feel he is the most alert between 9-10:30...afterwards, I think he just wants to play, jump, run and kick. Then i try to incorporate some learning throughout the day.  He has a very low attention span, which is frustating for the both of us.  Its a struggle finding new activities for him, but I recently bought the busy book for preschoolers, and it has some great ideas which I will start to use.  I would recommend it for busy preschoolers.  I am having a tough time with teaching math concepts, and hope to purchase the Little Math soon.

I agree that our kids do not understand the concept of strangers.  I guess there is a certain age, maybe teenagers when it starts to register who a stranger is.  I have an example, I was at the park with my son a few weeks ago and other older (maybe 7-9 year old) children were playing.  A girl proceeded to ask me if I was a stranger.  And my son was with me, so off course I didn't want him to feel as if he was not welcome to play, he is only 2 and half. I said no we are not strangers, we are here to play.  I had made it a point to teach my kids not to talk to go anywhere with strangers, just like my friends were teaching their kids.  But do kids really understand who a stranger is?  It dawned on me that this girls parents must have taught her about who strangers are, because she was asking me if I was a stranger. but she truely didn't know what a stranger means. She didn't know me, so in a way I was stranger, but how are our kids to know who is a good stranger and a bad stranger?? its tough.

I just learned about the point system so I will try to buy it if I can get a discount. I do have to say that I haven't found another website so dedicated to the achievement of our children.  thanks.

my son started crawling really late, around 10 months, but he was sitting with some assistance at around 7 months.  he started walking at around 12 months...maybe it was because he was a late bloomer.  Even his first tooth didn't come until he was 12 months and 3 days old.  Which is really late, but my mom told me I was also a late bloomer. 

how do karma point work?  can we give them anyone whose comments or posts we like?

I wanted to start a thread on the benefits of teaching your baby to sign.  I am not familiar with concept and its benefits.  I would however, like to know more about it.

I like the new system, but I wish I had found this site sooner and started implementing the technique sooner.  I had become frustrated with the YBCR system especially since my son wouldn't watch them longer for 5 minutes.  I am hoping to gain knowledge and good downloads to use.  I've only been here since last week and have already found many great pieces of info to use.

I find the red dots to be odd.  I like the little reader concept, but I don't quite understand how the little math works.  I really have not concentrated on the numbers and math with my son yet.  Its time now to start of that aspect.  thanks for the valuable infor.

I also like the Little Reader but it just seems like its too expensive for a software program.  I understand the concern about the economy.  I am laid off and I wouldn't fork out that much money, if I can get enough points I will buy it only then.
