KL, getting tired to do this ..whoaa... now is 3.15 am in the morning @ M'sia .. i've tried ALL the solution @ the link as u suggested ..but STILL FAILED (with same error) 3 suggestion as solution by InstallShield: 1. end all the running installation procesess - no running installation during the process, only one msiexec.exe but i end the process already using Task Manager as suggested. i can see that after i end the process, the file is not there anymore. even after i restart my laptop, no more related installation file @ Task Manager > Processes. but everytime i try to run the software ...it will stuck with the same error, then @ task Manager there will be the same file msiexec.exe. i do it few times until i feelt tired & give up..hu hu.. 2. delete the Temp folder - i delete all the files in the Temp folder also .. only one file cant delete - Perflib_Perfdata_284. Error msg :It is being use by another person @ program .
3. Install Windows Installer Engine - i dont have to do this since i'm using Windows XP. What i have to do now KL & Lappy ... ??

Hi VictoriaC, So good to hear your experience. Which SM did u went? Bdr Utama @ KL area? Maybe u can share with us here what type of lesson they teach in SM ..? I totally agree with you...we as parents shud do the activities with them daily & do not only depend on the teachers @ class..WE ARE THE BEST TEACHER ... me too during the Gymboree class will take note on the activities, and will do it @ home with my dotter .. (i want to make it really worth it coz its not a small investment leh....heheh) I remember every single song i learned in Gymboree, hahha...& when i sing it to my baby, she laugh as if she knew the song is a Gymboree song .. A week ago @ my aunt house during a b'day party, I was quite surprise when my baby suddenly do the "arms up" & "arms down" action repetitively when i sang "Gymbo the clown goes up & down, up & down, up & down..."..(she sit on a sofa that time). she never done it before coz everytime we sing the song @ Gymboree, we will actually hold her whole body up & down, so i was amaze that she actually understand the meaning of up & down ... i strongly agree that we have to be patient in teaching our children & they hate to be tested... really true ... thanks for sharing the link..i will surely check it out! Watie

Gosh, my Qarissa is 11 months old (next 2 weeks will be turning 1) but she still sleep with me & hubby since day 1~ ..she's fully BF & seldom cry ...when ever she cried, i will quickly gift her my BF & she will keep quite ..but now, she's getting tougher & always kick my hubby ..hahahah ( gud for him since he never experience the hassle to wake up late night to prepare the milk..) &i really have no idea how to do the transition from my bed to her own baby cot. The baby cot is just a place for her to sit down & play with toys while watching her DVD (while my maid clean up) .. i'm quite worried when the time come to do the transition ...but i just pretending everything will be ok ..i;m worried actually ...especially if i have a 2nd baby ...whoaa...how la ..???

Hi Sukhi, Welcome to the forum. I 100% agree with qidshi mum, U're on right track.. When 1st time i landed here, i downloaded all the free program that have but 3 days after ..i decided to buy it coz i tot its a very valuable investment (plus I'm afraid that the price will shoot up after this ..hahhhahaa ) I've tried the free PPS showed it to my dotter, she loves it so much! especially the animal sound. quite suprise when on the 2nd day i showed her, she start to imitate the sound.. it makes me happy & i cant sleep..hahahah...the word "to buy @ not to buy .." is in my head all night .. then i decided to buy it - LR & LM together . After converting to RM, the bill sent to me is around RM 603 & for me, its worth it .. Its a very powerful tools to teach ur baby. Plus, u can download the material from the forum (done by all parents who bought the software & they download it here). Thanks to them coz i can save my time preparing the picture & sound. Me too share the files here when ever i create new material for my dotter. u can record ur own voice & choose any subject u want to teach. whether in english @ any foreign languange such as german, spanish, arabic or maybe japan.. i have one category i created special for my dotter - Family phrase to Qarissa. I recorded my family voice & compile it,all the words & sentences from my family to Qarissa such as " Qarissa, nenek loves u .." , "Abang Danish loves Qarissa" & showed to her ...she keep on laughing & smiling when she heard their voices. I can see that after she view the file daily, she can recognize her grandfather, gradmother, cousin, aunty & uncle and not afraid of them. Before this, she's quite afraid with other people eventho its family ( i think all babies r like that ..when they start recognizing u as their parents ..heheh..arund 6 months i guess) & always cry when somebody carry her.. but after showed this program, she is more calm & relax, happy to play with other relatives ... mee too still googling here & there to polish my skill in using the software .. the latest news is that they r going to create a curriculum to make it easier for us to teach our children .. i totally recommend u to buy this software before the price increase ..ehhehehe Rgds, Watie

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / My Precious Moment when teaching my 11 months Baby..

As suggested by KL, i would like to share my experience teaching my 11 months baby to read...it's a very wonderful time we had together & i can still remember the happy moment both of us had .. ********************************************************* Hi Friends, i would like to share this experience with u all..i feel so happy today & i think i shud write it down here, so at least when Qarissa is big enuff & can read, i will surely show her this thread. hehehe.. This evening, i showed her a set of flash card - Occupations & Transportations. The card have 2 sided - word & picture + word. I tried to show her the word only (like GD style) & slip it as fast as i can but my dotter seems to be bored & keep looking at other places. I kept doing it & read it to her coz the parenting book i've read siad that baby can still hear & understand the word eventho they r not looking at the card @ dont pay attention @ what we said. Then the 2nd round, i showed her the picture + word side. She love it so much & keep looking at all the pictures. This time also i do as fast i can .. once finished, i play with her by showing 2 cards, tell her the name of one of the occupation & asked her to choose the correct card. Suprisingly, 100% is correct!! All the card i asked her to choose based on what I'm saying is correct!! What make me more convince that she actually understand what I'm saying is that, when i told her to choose, & keep saying the word, eg: teacher, she will look at both card, before picking up the right one ...wahhhhh....! i felt so happy like i hit a jackpot!! hahahaha... & every time she did it correctly, i will praise her, & she will laugh at me & keep on kicking her leg as if she is so happy to see me happy ..(that time when we play the flash card, i put her inside the baby swing so when she kick her leg, it look so cute ..heheheh) but quite sad coz i dont have my camera with me to capture @ record the special moment.. its actually our daily playtime & its been quite some time since our last flash card games.. hehehe.. this make me believe more - that all babies r really genius, we have to "play" & keep the genius wired inside their brain ..ehhehe..mmm...as for Little Reader, it help me a lot, since Qarissa watching it, she showed tremendous development. She will follow the sound of the animals with intonations..soft, same voice but from the intonations, i knew she understand the word...eg: miaw miaw for cat (she will do it twice - the sound) & goong goong gong ..for dog (she will do it thrice ) .. she will keep on nodded her head for some word she likes & keep on laughing when she heard my family voice & all the sentence & phrase they said to her ... i as so happy to see the progressive development in just 2 weeks ... tq to LR especially Lappy & KL ... i cant wait for my dotter to start talking ...i'm sure we will have so much fun together!! Rgds, Watie

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Re: LR vs Power Point

as for me, i like LR (other than what KL said which i agreed), other reason is becoz i can straight away record my voice during the info insertion process @ do editing on the voice. same goes to the picture. I go to google.com, click image tab, search related images (normally i look for 3 similar image) , straight away save insert in the LR library (i think its quite easy) . everything @ 1 go. easy peasy .. as for the sound, after i search the related sound that i want from the internet, i will edit the sound (to make it shorter or else my dotter will get bored hearing the sound too long) using audicity software recommended by Lappy. but there is one thing i dont know how to adjust - the screen - to make it smaller. the "add new category screen" is quite big (or maybe my laptop is quite small, not sure which one) but i cant really see the save button. so what i did is everytime i've done with my insertion of info, i will click X button and they will ask me whether to save it or not. That's how i do it .. ..
