BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Re: Settings lost when dragging category to playlist...

Hi mom2ross,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, which playback settings are you referring to? If you specify playback settings for a Category, and then place that Category in a Playlist, those settings should be evoked when called by the Playlist.
For example:
- Let's say Categories A, B and C are set to play their contents in RANDOM ORDER. - We place A, B, C into a Playlist and set it to play in RANDOM ORDER.
Upon playback of the Playlist, it will first RANDOMLY select an item (in this case, either A, B or C). Having chosen a Category to play at Random, the Category then evokes ITS settings, and randomly plays its contents in RANDOM order. When its contents have been exhausted, the Playlist then RANDOMLY selects between the two remaining Categories, and so on and so forth.
Only individual words that are placed in a Playlist will be displayed using the Playlist's settings.
Hope that clears things up, Shuki

Hi km276, When re-importing, remember to UNCHECK "Automatically resolve naming conflicts", then: - Click 'Show Advanced Options' - Under 'Course/Playlist/Category name conflict', select 'Rename' That should do the trick. Let us know if you have any further troubles! Shuki

Hi Sarah, To import the curriculum files into your Little Reader, first please ensure that you have activated your software with your license key. Once you have done so, kindly import your curriculum files (by double-clicking on the file) and the lessons will appear under the COURSES tab of your software. Hope that helps! Shuki

The BrillKids Forum / Forum Feedback + Questions / Re: Question about creating lesson units and approval of materials

Hi Skylark, For strictly educational purposes there is generally not a problem. However, this is a grey area as youtube videos may have been ripped from commercially available DVDs, etc. At our discretion if we feel that approving your files may be stepping on other publishers' and developers' toes, we may reject the file, and of course any content that is not free of copyright cannot be considered for premium status. Hope that clears things up! Shuki

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Re: How do I set up a Playlist in LR?

Hi laughingwater, Here's some recommended reading! How to Create a Category: http://forum.brillkids.com/little-reader-how-tos-and-faqs/how-to-create-a-category-in-little-reader/(Creating Playlists is very very similar). The Difference between Playlists and Categories: http://forum.brillkids.com/little-reader-how-tos-and-faqs/the-difference-between-categories-and-playlists/To achieve your desired lesson structure, all you really need are Categories, no need for Playlists. - Create folders for German, Afrikaans and Spanish, and folders for "German (Retired)", "Afrikaans (Retired)" and "Spanish (Retired)". - In each of these folders, create your Categories for Family, POTB, Animals, Household Items, Birds, etc etc etc. - Once you have finished playing each lesson, drag and drop them into their respective Retired folders. Good luck! Shuki

Hi momto3boys, As written on the product pages, the price for Little Reader + Little Math as a combo is either: - $64.00 $38.00 per month for 12 months ( 40% off regular price) OR - $704.00 $422.00 one-time payment ( 40% off regular price) Hopefully that will clear up any further confusion. Cheers, Shuki

Hi laughingwater, I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're trying to do, but do you mean you wish to create several playlists that will play various languages in various orders? e.g. - Playlist 1 - Afrikaans, Spanish, German - Playlist 2 - German, Afrikaans, Spanish - Playlist 3 - Spanish, German, Afrikaans If this is the behaviour you want to create, you should create three CATEGORIES - a German category, an Afrikaans category, and a Spanish category. Then you should create three PLAYLISTS, as listed above. When selecting items to go in the playlist, you may select entire categories, not just individual words! With regards to organisation, many of our users like to have a 'Retired' folder where they will drag and drop files that they have already played. You may find this to be helpful! With regards to moving Categories to Playlists, the functionality of the two are quite different, as Playlists and Categories are entirely different things. However, if you want to have the Category represented in the Playlist section, simply create a Playlist and have the desired Category as the only item in the Playlist, and it will function similarly to the original Category. Hope that helps, Shuki
