EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Little Musician- Does your "mi" in LM sound distorted?
|
on: February 24, 2013, 11:35:11 AM
|
Does the "mi" on any one else's LM have feedback from the microphone? All the other notes or fine but "mi" sounds like "miPUH" and after the 100th lesson I can't take it anymore. If I have any kind of musical ability I would rerecord it myself! So I'm wondering if I just got a bad mi mp3 or if everyone's is like that, too. Maybe I don't have to suffer. My baby really loves LM but I cringe whenever there is a (sung fast) mi in the lesson.

Parents' Lounge / Coffee Corner - General Chat / Re: Reading eggs 1yr subscription on sale @ zulilly

Does anyone know if a 14 month old (12 months adjusted for prematurity) would be too young for reading eggs? You have to start the subscription by July I think and it goes for 1 year. That would make her 17 to 29 months (adjusted) during the subscription. Has anyone tried it with a child this young or are there better ways out there?

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Re: Good Songs with "Do Re Mi?"
|
on: February 20, 2013, 09:20:15 PM

This is the Sound of Music Do Re Mi with Do Re Mi representing C, D, and E on a light up staff. The colors are also LM colors although the the "ti" could be a bit more hot pinkish than it is. She has two other videos up also. Can anyone with perfect pitch tell me if she is in fact singing on key? I'm pretty much tone deaf!
Here's the link (sorry I don't know how to put the video directly in the post).

Downloads + Collaborations Discussions / General Collaborations / Re: Spanish speaker for SALSA LR files

Does your little one like Salsa? Do you have the DVDs or watch in Georgia? Because online the screen is teeny tiny and I was wondering if it held children's attention. It looks like such a great program and there is so much material to go with it. I just wish I had the actual DVDs but they are incredibly expensive. I've been lobbying my library to get a set but they all but laugh me out of there due to the price

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Re: ADD: The Solfege Train
|

Thanks! I just bought the solfege train. (And LM after trying the trial!). It's great to have hands-on materials for those of us who are not musically inclined. I haven't looked at the items yet. Are there instructions, by any chance, on how to incorporate the material with LM???? (Again for those of us that don't have a clue!)

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Re: I just bought LR Deluxe from Zulily. Now what?

Hello Skeptic!
Congrats on taking the plunge! I bought my LR from Zulily, too, and was absolutely thrilled to see it there for so cheap. (I don't check Zulily everyday and I almost missed it!) So when it came back again I was sure to post about it in this forum so others who didn't have it yet could buy it. It took a while for my package to come and I was waiting on pins and needles. The code is in the box and when activate you automatically get the points. I chose the deluxe version and I really like the books. I've only tried a couple so far because my little one likes to grab now and can easily rip the pages. One problem I did note was that on the Zulily website I think it said 8000 points but Brillkids only offers 6000 points now for LR Deluxe. So it was a disappointing error! But I love Zulily. I wish they had more educational stuff. I would so love for Little Musician to be on there one day.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: For those teaching Chinese, Sesame Street DVDs available
|
on: July 27, 2012, 04:23:13 AM
|
First you sign up to see what they're offering that day (I get a credit when someone I invited joins and places their first order!) then type in "chinese" in the search box. On page 3 (after 2 pages of shoes by Chinese Laundry) show the DVDs.
OR type "Love to Learn Collection" in the search box and all the products they assembled for today's sale will show up. You'll see the Little Reader kit, flashcards, learning CDs, etc in addition to the Sesame Street DVDs (which seem to be down at the bottom on page 2).
I hope I helped and didn't confuse you more! I have often thought the site was tricky to navigate. I very nearly missed Little Reader when it was on sale because I didn't know it was there!

Hi PokerDad! Is OP original poster? I'm still new to all of this! With Zulily you get a credit for use on the site when a friend you referred to them placed their first order. I've never actually referred a friend (all of mine had their little ones years ago!). So I don't know if I still get the credit if you click through another site or not. But that doesn't matter. The better savings is certainly the way to go!
I found the $5 off before (you can only use it once) but not the 12% off so thanks for the tip. I want to buy the Chinese DVDs. And thanks so much for joining through the link. It is always nice to look like I have lots of friends!
