31  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: September 16, 2013, 05:46:05 PM
Hello Tany14, thank you for your warm welcome. According to the native German speakers I can speak German very well. I met two couples who were bilingual. First, I used English, then German. One couple was from Italy and the other was from Switzerland. Both couples said to me Du sprichst sehr gut Deutsh"". It is not so true. I have forgotten many things, especially to use the declinations correctly. I would like my LO had a third language, but German will be a language that I will teach her perhaps making use of LR, when it is in German. I couldn´t be able to speat to my LO in German language in the same way that I can speak to her in English and German. IT is obvious. German is a complex language. Perhaps German and Chinese will be the third and fourth language that my LO will learn with LR.  With Chinese, I am not so sure. But I prefer doing an English linguistic immersion instead of teaching multilingual languages my LO.

A doubt, you say that you are going to use the translation with your LO. Your translation was good, but I must say to you that these sentences are not used with a child and less with a baby. Perhaps tomorrow evening, if I find some time, I can write what I would say to my LO when he has her dirty hands, if you want.
I thought that you was translating a text, simply that. Say to me if you want it. See you
32  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: September 16, 2013, 04:37:23 PM

I would to speak a little about my first experience with my future bilingual child. Nuria spent with us two whole weeks surrounded by people from different european countries. In spite of being in my own country, there were very few people from my country big grin; it is excellent for Nuria´s linguistic immersion.

I tried to speak to other mummies and daddies in English and German. In German I could speak a lot. yes  I think that it is good that my LO listens to me speaking different languages. In this way, she will want to speak different languages when playing with other children, it doesn´t matter the country Wink

It was very funny when we were in the reception of the hotel and Nuria began to say her nice "OK, ok, ok... Perhaps five or six times. The recepcionist who was putting down, began to have a look trying to find the person who said it. wub  big grin

Today, when I went to take her at the nursery school, she said to me HI, and immediately after she said to one of the caregivers bye bye. Ha ha ha...

She is taling more in eNGLISH than in Spanish, and sometimes I am a little affraid, but I think that there will not any problem...

Hello Tany14 and daka, I have been on holidays for two weeks. Besides. my mummy was sent to the hospital again because of some liquid in her lungs.
Tany 14, I have read your translation into my mother language. You have made few mistakes. Wink

Daka,

If you want simple sentences that describe daily routine when speaking to a baby in Spanish language, try to get the book that I have named at the very beginning of this post. The book is very basic, but it is a good first step in your aim. If you have any doubt in Spanish, write here and I will try to help you.

35  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: August 21, 2013, 11:14:04 AM
Hi Tany, don´t worry, perhaps another person can help us with the English language  big grin  Then, you have the book, some sentences have been extracted from there, Potty training information, no.  What languages are you teaching your LO?
36  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Yaaaaaaaaaaay! My daughter can write. on: August 21, 2013, 11:08:42 AM

38  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: August 21, 2013, 10:51:10 AM
Hi Tany14! Sorry, but I have been very busy because I am going to travel this week. It is a pleasure to help you.

Well, I am going to write to you what I would say to my LO in Spanish language talking about potty training:

Venga cielo/cariño/mi niña, ya te has tomado tu biberón/has almorzado/has merendado y es hora de usar tu orinal.
Siéntate ahí y no te muevas para que puedas orinar/ensuciar
No, no te muevas. Estáte quietecita viendo Jolly Phonics, for example. LOL  LOL
Si te mueves/si te levantas del orinal lo vas a dejar todo perdido/todo sucio.
Ya has terminado? Creo que sí. Levántate un poquito, cariño.  Síiiiiiiii. Muy bien. Ya has hecho tu pipí/tu caca.
Déjate que te pase una toallita húmeda por tu pompi/culito (botom)
Muy bien!!
Vamos a lavarte un poquito en el baño, vale???

Any translation, if you don´t undestand a sentences, say to me. When, I am at home again, I will do it. I would like that you could write the sentences that you use in the English language, if possible. Your own sentences, please.

I am going to write more sentences in Spanish
Bathtime 2

It is not necessary any translation in Spanish language, if I have some doubts about some structures, I would like that native speakers say to me.

Ten cuidado al entrar. Te puedes caer.
Agárrate a mami porque resbala.
Echamos espuma
Quieres tu patito de goma?
Dónde ha ido a para el jabón/champú/gel/patito de goma...?
Si no dejas de salpicar, te sacaré de la bañers
Sal, agárrate fuerte a mamá.

Hay que secarte bien los piececitos.
Y ahora todo el cuerpo.
Qué difícil es cepillarte tu pelo!! Está todo enredado.[/color
]

Now my doubts in your English language.
[color=blue]How do you say, I am going to take the plug  off??? in order that the water runs.???
*Leave that*could be a synonym of Don´t touch that?
Take out your leg out from the basket? Ungrammatical sentence??
Don´t open the LID? of the toilet. Yucky

Put the book ___________???? Pon el libro al derecho/pon el libro bien. Lo tienes al revés.

I want to say that I am very happy and proud. My daughter is showing that she can read a lot of words. It is amazing! Someone from this forum, recomended me Leapfrog, and she likes a lot. Jolly phonics is very good as well. Some changes, but Nuria likes both videos laugh

The other day I was in a shopping center and Nuria started to say the numbers of the doors, 1, 2....
I have began to use the flashcards regularly; I am using the flashcard while we are in the car. She loves them. She screams in order that I show them. She says: three, the sounds of about ten letters, two, cat, dog....

40  EARLY LEARNING / Homeschooling / Re: Useful links for you and your kids:) on: August 18, 2013, 03:41:28 PM
I want to share a link where you can see many interesting toys that could be in your own home. I am thinking about buying this good wooden alphabet. I am sure Nuria loved it. She is saying and reading a lot of words, I think   it would be very good for her. There are many good toys to be considered, and related to early education. Wooden abacus as well.

41  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: August 17, 2013, 07:36:37 PM
Hi c4andy20!

Your children are very lucky. They will be able to know four languages. Amazing!

The other day was speaking to my hubby about the possibility to teach Nuria Chinese in the future. My husband says to me first the languages that I can speak and then, Chinese would be a good option. On Thursday I downloaded a pair of Chinese files to have a look... One of them was about the first things that one learns when learning a new language. I have no idea how I could teach my LO, if those sentences are not translated, those symbols. I love Chinese writing, it is so different. I have heard that handwriting of this particular language is about concepts, each symbol, a concept, Is it right?? Well, when you can see a word and later a picture, it is obvious, but that video that I downloaded, difficult... I felt frustrated. I think Chinese would be a good option, it is a language that is having more and more power.

You say that your LO cannot do it perfectly, Take your time, she will do it! You must feel very proud of her, I am sure.

Mybabyian, I hope you and your lovely newborn are very good!!
42  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / very beginners phonics reading books structure CVC? on: August 14, 2013, 04:54:23 PM
I am working phonics with my LO. She loves LEAPFROG!!! I am thinking about creating a small book with letters that she is able to identify such as A, M, T,.., It would be with the structure, CVC, consonant vowel consonant.(cato, she reads this word, pet, and so on...) I was thinking about the possibility to print it, but she is only 17 months....paper would be in little pieces  Better would be videos, what do you think or powerpoint presentations, do you know something related to that?

Here I have a link for those parents who need a little book about phonics where their children paint and read. I would like to use them when Nuria is able to colour.http://www.superteacherworksheets.com/minibooks/short-a-mini-book_WNZQW.pdf

And what about a worksheet where your LO use stickers to show what he has done  http://www.superteacherworksheets.com/reading/book-bingo_WDFBF.pdf
43  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary on: August 14, 2013, 04:46:45 PM

: c4andy20, Thank you for all of your sentences. A question, what languages are your LO speaking? Sure, English and Spanish, more languages??
44  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Update on my 3 year year olds reading progress on: August 14, 2013, 04:43:02 PM

Linzy, I am doing the free trial of readingeggs, it is very good as well.
45  Parents' Lounge / Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello! on: August 14, 2013, 04:37:21 PM
Hello Jenny,

My daughter is doing well now. When she was born, the doctor said to me that she had to have a correctio. That awful thing made my LO now can walk around my house perfectly!! God blesses the person who invented it!!! She can move her neck from side to side. Besides, she had to put special boots on because another problem that she had in her left foot. The problem was caused when she was in my womb, she took a bad possition. I remember a very strong ache in the fifth or sixth month of my pregnancy. I think that it must be common among twins because of the little space for two creatures in the same place. But now everything is backwards.

As far as LR, and your question about my own experience, I can say to you that my purchase of LR that May 2012 has been very positive not only for my LO, but also for myself. Although my level of English is hight, I don´t  use advanced English very usually. The thing was worse when I lost my job. Buying LR, forces to me to use my second language, and even to take the third language again. I would like to teach my LO German in the future, but I prefer doing later, not at the same time. Sometimes I have doubts, because in accordance with what I read here over and over again the best time is right now. The other day commented it my husband, I want to teach Chinese too, in the future, and he said to me first German, I agree. I have no idea, when, it is the truth.

My LO loves LR. I bought it when she was about almost 2 months and a half. I cannot believe the fact that children could read, but the fact of having such a fantastic language programme for my own child, made me take the decision of buying it. I did the free trial, and I was very excited. I began to use it, perhaps once a week when my LO was about three months, or before, I am not sure. She was in her cot. Then I sat on my lap. She showed interest. The important thing is your LO have fun, only that, Early learning begins since the first moment that she begins to receive all the input that LR gets with only four or five minutes. First begins with black and white.

Don´t worry about what you call her disability, she will be able to take advantage of LR, I cannot doubt that fact.
