The idea of IPT/EC looks interesting, I'll read more about it and see if I can include it in my program.

I know many people who have had success with OPOL for other languages, the only concern is your child may think that all women speak one language, and all men the other. Which is easily corrected (and adorable in my opinion)

I had the same impression when I was a kid, my mom was talking to me in Arabic and French  and my dad in Arabic only (although he masters French very well), I thought only women speak French It was funny but really OK, it didn't cause any problem

Hi everyone,

I've been through the forum and the net looking for curricula for my expected baby boy. It's definitely overwhelming because there is a large variety of methods, I feel a little bit lost now, would anyone tell me what he/she thinks about these methods I am willing to use and if I am missing anything important?

- PRENATAL: Baby plus: I am currently using it. (and the guidelines in the brillbaby website)
- PARENTS/CHILD RELATIONSHIP: I am interested in Dr. Sears Attachment parenting concept.
- EARLY EDUCATION: LR&LM: definitely! I couldn't find a better program for "very"early learning!
- ALTERNATIVE PEDAGOGY: Montessori
- EARLY COMMUNICATION: ASL
- LANGUAGES: OPOL: as a multilingual method (starting with 3 languages for the first 3 years as we master 6 languages at home, we can add others the following years)

Thanx a lot for your response. I thought I was minimalist... as I am comparing my choices to what parent magazines suggest, but I think I was wrong, you are way more minimalist than me.

Thanks for the baby carrier tip. I was planning to get just a pushchair.

For the toys, I may get just one (most likely Jacques the peacock as it has many features and contrasting colors) and a playmat (we'll see how it goes)

Ceci-dit, the most important thing, as you mentioned, is quality time we spend together, there is no minimalism in there

I am wondering what toys should I buy for our expected baby boy.
As of now, I made a list. It's quite short as I only wanna only buy the "essentials" (new born babies shouldn't be overwhelmed with a lot of toys I think). That would be great if you send comments on this list or recommend others you've already tried with your babies.

For the toys:

- Fisher price playmat
- Lamaze Jacques the peacock or Freddie the firefly (which one is better?)
- Lamaze foot and wrist finders
- ELC (Eraly Learning Centre) Dillon the donkey

For the books:

- Lamaze cloth book "Faces" (with black and white patterns)
- The very hungry caterpiller by Eric Carle
- Dr Seuss's pocket library (is it too early?)
- Another pocket library (with ABC, 123, animals, etc.)

Thanks for your response. I am quite skeptical regarding this product. I may buy it only if I find a good opportunity on ebay or so. It won't hurt to try it and just stop using it if it really gets annoying...

Hi everybody,

I am new to the forum and this topic looks quite old, I have a question though and I hope there will be s.o to respond 

I am interested in babyplus (after having read all the articles and the reviews about it) but I am wondering if the sound isn't annoying for the mom. I usually can't handle such sounds and I will eventually have headaches... Maybe that will make me feel more stressed... Therefore, may it have an indirect negative impact on the fetus (mom's stress) though it's more likely to have a positive direct one (the early learning effect)?

Plus, isn't annoying for people around who will also hear the sound as it is so loud?
