BrillKids Software / Bug Reports / Little Muscian won't install
|
on: July 28, 2011, 11:25:51 AM

It is stuck on configuring new software screen. I am running vista. I choose all the default settings for installation. I also cannot cancel out of the installation screen I have to go to task manager to get out.
I was mistaken about the user authorization screen before this is after that.

BrillKids Software / Little Musician - General Discussion / Re: LITTLE MUSICIAN - BETA TESTING details
|

I had 5 years of musical training in grade school and play the piano by note.
I have grandchildren at age 4 and 1 yro old to test at two different age levels.
I am anxious to teach them Solfege and am pushing the daycare to add this to their teachings. I have finally found a Suzuki teacher in my area to teach the children also. I certainly wish to teach this method as opposed to the method I received.
I will be purchasing them a keyboard this weekend for their birthdays.
I am hoping to work with the kids at the daycare once I get LMs.

Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: How to deal with whinging?

The kids are always worse with you, but it is because you give in to her every demand. You can make her pick up her own toys. A 2 year old is quite capable of cleaning up after themselves. Store her toys so she can cleanup herself. Playing with one toy and putting it away before getting something else. Just makes some rules and stick with them. It will be hard at first but eventually it will be easy.
Children learn quite quickly if they whine they get what they want because parents can't take it. Just do not give her what she wants when she whines it will stop. Easier said then done. If the child learns you run the house with rules and not them, things are much easier.

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Adding a beginning letter game to LR
|
on: March 30, 2011, 09:24:59 AM
|
I am working on phonics with my little reader. I think it would be easy to add a game where the child supplies the beginning letter from the keyboard for a word, that would make LR more exciting, fun and versatile. Is this an enhancement we can have?
The little one would see a picture with the word spelled below with a blank for the first letter. The pronunciation for the picture would be supplied, then to continue the right letter on the keyboard would be required. Feedback on the answer would be provided. The parent could select a list of words with preferably three letter words, maybe some four letter words, that you have pictures and pronunciations for. I suppose bigger words could also be used.
Would anyone else find this useful?
