Everyday I go outside And stride along the path with pride And stop to look, should something catch my eye, I don't want to let the wonder pass me by!
i cant walk good, i badly feel shy People might look and wonder why The cars zoom by, the cool wind blows I walk regardless of rain or snows
And when it snows upon my head My hair gets wet and I forget........ Oh, shoot! I left the oven on! Now I wish I hadn't gone!
I race back home as fast as I can and find a black turkey on fire in the pan. I turn around to start again Only to realize the clouds just turned grey and it is starting to rain
This time I choose to stay inside In case I forget again, I would rather scribe. so i sit the chair beside and chop more onions, nursing my pride
I then decide to make some stew with some chilli, lemons, and sour honeydew They simmer on low in a great big pot It cooks for an hour, and then is served piping hot.
some eyes go out with a shock When Spot jumps up to eat the very hot stock He yips and yaps, trying to cool his tongue He howls and yulps, as if he's been stung...
By a bumble bee flapping his wings and shaking his bum! I took him outside, I said, "Spot, do come, come!" i hand him books that weight tons He grabs them and away he runs.
My guests are behind me asking "why" my pet fly up high in the sky "Can I do that too if I eat the soup?" "Yes!" I replied, "You can even fly through that hoop!"
So back they go in a great hurry trying to get at the stew But......... something strange had happened to the brew It had turned into a bubbling green mess

TABS, thank you so much it's great to know people are enjoying that download. It sure was time consuiming. But knowing that I will try to get some more of my encyclopedic knowledge info up on little reader. I love to think other kids aer getting a chance to share in the enjoyment. And Karma to you and KL for the wonderful suggestions.
Sapna, I know Kuman has a simple maze book that starts at age 2. But I have the same problem with my son. He just doesn't "get" the maze he will draw a line straight from the beginning to the end and ignore the maze walls. I like the idea of tracing the letters does anyone have a specific website that they have would to be helpful for printing out tracable worksheets? Also, this is really basic, but does anyone know of a website that talks about correct pencil holding technique or how to teach it? I hold the pencil in one of the "non-standard" techniques as I was never taught correctly and embarrasingly am not certain what exactly the standard technique is.

I think you are being too hard on yourself. Your availible time and energy level will fluctuate over your child's life and some times you will do more and sometimes less. The most important thing is that your child feels loved. You could try carrying your baby in a sling while you are running around doing all your chiristmas preparations, that was she could sleep or be alret and just enjoy being near you, and then you could spend that time talking to her about what you are doing.
As for the breast feeding if you are strongly interested you could attempt to rebuild up your supply. Their are several medications that increase supply (one is called reglan) you could combine that with lots of attempted feedings/pumpings and lots of skin to skin time. If that doesn't seem like the path for you with this one then just keep in mind that most children who are formula fed turn out to be just as bright, happy and healthy as any breat fed baby. You already did great things for your baby by giving her those first three months of nutrients and antibodies. Just keep in mind that you should be sure to chose a formula with DHA in it.

Once upon a time, Santa Clause wandered into my garden and dropped his cookies on blue carpet that my sacks of beads fell onto. I picked pickled parsnips from Papa's popular place, then danced deliriously for my baby panda and he got slept under the Christmas tree.
Whenever reindeer passes through the lovely supermarket OVERFLOWING with laughter throw tomatoes at grandpa giggling away.
We all stopped when suddenly George shouted, "HO HO HO! Oh, goodness!" Apparently the facetious elves played jolly upon finishing one cookie!
Hurray! Rudolph pranced joyfully while Santa drank eggnog and sang a song loudly while wrapping presents quickly. Everything suddenly vanished into clouds that disappeared rapidly into dust. It wasn't very unusual really, but fortunately Santa Clause had packed sacks of whitening snow but never dare use

I think .doc or .rtf is best assuming you are planning on printing them to flashcards. And with the POIs it seems better to have them printed on the back of the flashcard so you can read them easily to your child. Power point is more of a presentation format, and although you could do a presentation with the pictures, the POIs as their own slide might be distracting, unless you are just planning on printing them out in which case might as well just use .doc or .rtf. However, I believe you get more loyalty points for uploading powerpoint....so I guess if you have a strong desire one way or another I would be happy to acquiesce.
Also, I'm assuming we're starting next week right?

I believe DomanMom is currently working on writing POIs for her son regarding countries. You could ask her about those. As far as showing them you are supposed to try to work up to showing 5 cards from each of the 10 divisions three times a day (with POIs) or 10 cards three times a day (without POIs). That's what I believe at least, I don't have my book in front of me right now. Another thing we need to decide is what format to post them in. I was planning on posting them in the flashcard section so they could be printed out 1 picture on the front and the POIs on the back(you can see some of my others like the planets, shapes or states for example). If desired we could also post them as little reader files (for those what you need to do for POIs is read each one individually and save it as picture audio, so for each single picture you'd have 10 picture audios). I did one as a little reader file. It is time intensive, but does work well.

So, we are going to start a group in which at least 10 of us each adopt one division of knowledge each week and are responsible for creating a set of cards for that division that week. As it is my thought is that we should just alternate divisions by signing up one each week with whatever category we intend to do. Right now I am working on completing sets for each of the 50 states I'd like to start w/ geography. If people want to choose one division for the next week, for which they will be responsible for making either 5 or 10 cards(What do you guys think is reasonable? My thought is, that since you only do 5 encyclopedic cards at a time 5 is probably good to start.) Then you can just post your division and chosen category.
So the divisions are: Mathematics Art Geography - States of the United States of America Literature Language Science Biology Music Human Physiology History
I hope this will be lots of fun and give us all a chance to give our children a very full and diverse program.
