BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Picture resolution
|

Is it possible to upgrade LR in future so that we can have the option to keep the selected picture image in its own resolution, and not stretched all the way to fill the screen. Some pictures are very good in terms of learning but resolution is poor if stretched. Many thanks.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Maddy's baby reading 40+ words at 16 months with Little Reader

It was amazing to watch your girl reading and pronouncing them so nicely (and cute). I have the same question as Ayesha Nicole. Is it crucial to retire one word per day from the set. when I read the Doman's book, I was so confused by that sequence. so when I do it, I simply introduce a new set of 5 words each week...they will be same every day of the week....then a whole new set the following week. Does anyone do it like I do? I hope it's ok.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Reading success?
|

hi all I am a mother of a child with both physical and cognitive disabilities. He has been enjoying reading real books as well as powerpoint point books I made...and recently LR books. But I am really not sure if he is learning the words. Just out of curiousity, is there anyone out there whose child has not responded to LR? e.g. you've showed them the words, then maybe the word cards, but they didn't show that they really get it? Then what happened? Did you give up? Or did you do more? Love to hear from you....even if your child does not have special needs...I'd like to learn from you.

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Video and animation
|

I like the animation for Action Words 1 and 2 by BrillKids...so simple yet so clear. Is there a free software we can access to make simple animation like this? If not, any suggestions to websites that have great animation or downloadable videos for teaching purposes? I'd like to introduce some more action words or more abstract concepts that may be done easier with videos or animations. Any input would be appreciated.

BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / Re: Changing colour of Icons

I am not if what I am experiencing is the same. I was trying to highlight one of the basic shapes, e.g. star. But I simply couldn't do it. what I want to do is change the color of stars to yellow. After failing to do this, I tried creating a new preset with yellow star myself, then I failed....then the screen icons got overlapped. I sent in a bug report (thru the "give feedback" link), but after typing it, it says "sorry, you are not allowed to send in this topic"....wondering why? I am attaching the print screen here.

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Can u make LR downloadable to a CD
|

Well...since my son is special needs, he has a special edu. program at school. His teacher is very nice and is very willing to accommodate my teaching needs. I really want my son to read the files at school for at least one time so I don't have to squeeze all the reading after school....but I can't do this cuz the school does not have a copy of LR. To ask the school board to purchase a copy would be out of the question. So right now, my only option is to redo everything with powerpoint. Can LR files be downloaded and viewed as a CD without having to install the program? Please help
