Hi Hidayah & Qisdhi Mum, Tq for ur feedback. Really appreciate it. Yeah, me too totally agree with both of u. It's the other way round @ UK. . I agree that we need to speak Malay @ home since our children can speak English @ almost everywhere they go... I think PHDC @ any English Education DVD help a lot on polishing English vocab.. & since I bought the LR & LM already, I'll make sure Qarissa will read with me at least 3 times a day. Feel happy coz she loves LR so much especially when it come to animals sound. She even follow the intonations...(I'm getting excited & in the middle of "googling" the software...hope that in few days to come...i can share my file with u all.. hehhehe Watie

HI Qisdhi Mum, Tq so much for that info!! Yes, i agree that Leap Frog is good & educational toys for baby. I bought one for Qarissa during our vacation @ Bali. In M'sia, i's quite expensive (more than RM 100 if i'm not mistaken) but @ Bali, at that time got some discount so its around RM 70++. Cute toys that teach ABC. Qarissa love it so much & i like it becoz they pronunciation is very clear. Some of the toys (normally China brand) is not really clear especially the English pronounciation. The toys that i bought got 3 mode & very interesting... Tq for sharing again Qisdhi Mum.. Watie

Hi Qidshi Mum, Ya, Arabic is also one of the languange that i want Qarissa to master. Hehhee.. I'm planning to send her to Little Calliph coz they said its gud. @ Setia Alam ada satu, but not as gud as Shah Alam (they said) ..my friend send her children there. English= Islamic lesson. Maybe the Mandarin is an additional languange @ other centre. Still thinking. Its ok..i have few years to think. Hhehehe

This is also one of my main concern. I really want my baby to be expert in Mandarin Language. I must admin that nowadays, Mandarin languange is so important - as important as English lesson. ( y lah ...my parents dont send me to mandarin school? arghh..) I try to look for Education Program that teach Mandarin from basic (for child) but failed. Normally the will sell the Mandarin program in Mandarin lang without the English @ Malay translator. how to understand? I'm 0 knowledge of Mandarin..ehhehe..(little bit can lah ...) Now, i bought Chinese Song for Qarissa. Let her listen to it & hope she will understand it ..( but i dont. The older we are, the harder to capture all the words in my head ..argghh ) I found few CD Audio that have to same song but one in English & other one is in Mandarin ( in 1 same CD). I think its gud tho, coz at least Qarissa can hear the same intonation of music but diff languange. Few days ago, i bought an education DVD that teach Mandarin Lang in singing. Interesting DVD..i also can learn. Its like a karaoke version eg: Mother, Mother, sher ma ma (i dont know how to write in Chinese) but that is how it look like. So they have all those family listing like Mother, Father, Uncle, Aunty, Grandpa, Grandma ..i found out that its easy to learn that way my my tongue a bit twisted to read the words in Mandarin. hehehe... Please friends, if u have any other way that i can improve my Mandarin, do let me know coz i wish to teach Qarissa also. I plan to send her to Mandarin school later on but afraid that she cant cope with it. I'm afraid that I'm unable to help her since i dont really understand the languange..do help me please.. tq ..

Hi All,
I really want to hear from M'sian Parents & other country too. How do u all teach ur baby English? As u all know, M'sia using Malay Languange.
In M'sia, we have 3 main race. Malay, Chinese & Indian. I can see that Msian Chinese & Indian have extra point in terms of languange coz they can understand & speak in at least 3 language - Malay, English & Tamil @ Mandarin. As for Malays, we only can speak in 2 language - Malay & English only.
Sad to say but this is the truth. Not all Malays can speak English that well. Not really fluent i mean .. that's y i open this topic so that we can share experience in teaching our child English.
As for me, i teach Qarissa by speaking to her in English all the time. Some times, I will mix it with Malay Lang but in one sentence, definitely there will be at least one word in English. I will repeat the words again & again so she understand more. Beside using flash card & all the education material, i always encourage her to watch PHDC @ Astro - 613.
Any other idea on how I can teach my little angel. Tq so much..

Hi Qishi Mum,
Ya lah ...i think babies nowadays very advanced kan .? we have to "crack" our head (for ideas) to make them interested in whatever we're teaching! I think even the normal teacher cant do that! We can because its our babies & we want the best for them! I think why all babies r more intested in TV @ DVD are because of the color, sound & action. You know what?? I have to make silly & funny faces (with sound some more ) to Qarissa when i show her the flash card THEN ONLY SHE WILL PAY ATTENTION & LAUGH A LOT! ( laugh until she puke!) ..eg: when i showed "tounge" flash card, i have to put the card in front of my face (cover it) , say "tounge" & at the same time show my tounge & do some sound act like a peek a boo game..) Its very challenging & i have to think of new education game to play with...perghhh....
i will try n follow ur way of playing the flash card! gud idea ..thanks to u! Hehhehe..

OMG, reading this thread make my wanna buy the software NOW!! I join u all yesterday & cant really sleep at nite! Keep thinking whether to buy or not to buy..argghhh...i ask my hubby opinion, & he simply said .."u know better" (of couse lah ..my credit card ...of course i know better .." ) hahahaha...
i think LR its quite reasonable price tho...after convert to M'sian ringgit, its less than RM 400. I bought Gogo Education Set for Qarissa is around RM 1800!!.Full set of education come together with talking pen! It's gud & my dotter love it! must make sure Qarissa know how to hold properly b4 giving her the talking pen or else i have to pay another RM 500 to get 1! (can but another LR ooo)
I spent time downloading the sample of flash card (PPS) yesterday & show to Qarissa..she love it! But...but ...she keep on clapping her hand on my laptop keyboard!!!! aiyooo...how lah friend! she clap on until my screen DESKTOP rotate 90' degree!..gosh!!..she keep on grabbing my mouse too!!
one thing i love about this LR is the sound..coz my dotter easily get distracted with other things around her.. she feels bored easily ..& she want things that move, talk, dance, got sound & so on... she dont mind to keep on looking at it the whole day..as for flash card, she love it only for 2 minutes..then ...arghh...i try to show her the GOGO flashcard this morning...n guess what?? she's yawning with boring face after 2 minutes!!!! she keep on looking @the TV (i need to off the TV for a while so that she will concentrate) and said Gogo, gogo....gosh!
then when i show her the LR PPS ( i showed her the animal pps coz got sound), she love it & start to follow the sound. I need to train her to "behave" in front of the PC or laptop ..hu hu...
well, i will study the program 1st, collect some points....n hopefully can buy the software for Qarisa....

My Qarissa also sumtimes hate the walker, she prefer to crawl & creep (& of course its tired for us to catch her!) but when she watch her DVD, i will put her in the walker. She's ok with it. I see that when i put her in the walker, she tend to "walk" very fast (the wheels help her of course!) but at least she stand & really walk. If i put her down & ask her to walk normally, she dont want to do it.. y lah ..? so lazy ...

Opss, forget to inform that the Gymboree is located @ Bangsar Village near Mid Valley. Level 1 beside Toy's R Us. Another one is in Tropicana City Mall (new branch). Its quite hard to find early education (i mean as early as 1 day age!) in Malaysia. After 6 month age, there only fews education centre. After 3 years is A LOT!! (like kindergarten & montessori),Smart reader, Q Dees, Little Calliph & the list go on ...
I send Qarissa to Gymboree once @ twice a week. I called it her "social class". Hehhe..so she can mingle with other friends of her age. Other then that, of course homeschooling. I bough GOGO Education Set & she loves it so much! Everyday after bathing, when her nanny take her down, she will straight away say .."GOGO"..she watch GOGO from afternoon until night without feel bored at all (my god..i really cant stand it sumtimes..hahahaha) ..I will change the DVD to Baby Brainy @ Baby Einstein & she love it too! (But GOGO is her 1st love!) Hhehhee..
