KL,
Do you have a tentative date as to release of the Traditional Chinese curriculum? After I had posted my question above, I realized that rather than translating the entire LR library to Chinese myself, I may just as well wait for the Chinese curriculum to come out if it is projected to be in the next couple of months.

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / editing LR word files - help pls.

Is it possible to edit a word from english into traditional chinese, record a new pronunciation in mandarin, and still keep the existing picture and video with it? I tried to do it using the edit function on the playback screen but could only get the word changed to one character. For example, I want to change "clap" to "拍 手" but it only saves the word as "拍". Is there a way to do this? Also, once I have edited the word, can I still keep the original english file as well as save the new chinese file? My idea was to translate the entire LR word library into chinese so I can do session 1 in english and session 2 in chinese. Having the same pictures and videos for both languages will help my baby understand that things are called different names in different languages. Is this possible?

Products Marketplace / Product Discussions and Reviews / Re: could you please review Soft way to Mozart?

I too am very interested to hear about other people's experience and reviews of this new method to teach piano. My main concern is whether the child will find it difficult to read sheet music later on after getting used to the vertical staves. I understand that the child can start the program as young as 2 years old. My baby is almost 15 months now and, if people are getting good results with this method, I am planning to purchase in the next month or so so that I can learn the software myself before starting to teach my baby. Is HH still active in this forum? Are the discounts she gave earlier still valid?

Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Anybody using/familiar with 中華字經 program used in KinderU?

Hi,
Is anybody familiar with the program that is being used in KinderU HK to teach babies to read chinese using right brain learning? According to a book I read, they are using a set of books, CDs, and DVDs called 中華字經 (Zhonghua Zijing) as well as the Neuroacademi Intelligence Multiplier flashcards. I was just wondering how effective this method is and how receptive the babies are to it? I would welcome any comments regarding your experience with this method.

Chinese - Baby Learns Chinese vols 1-3, Baby's First Words in Chinese, 三字經, 弟子規, 唐詩 (Chinese Classics in song/rhyme format for babies), traditional Mandarin children's nursery rhymes/songs (160 songs), and lots of bilingual (Mandarin/Chinese) storybooks on CD. 3. French - Little Pim vols 1-3, Baby's First Words in French, French children's nursery rhymes/songs 4. Spanish - Little Pim vols 1-3, Baby's First Words in Spanish, Globe Toddlers in Mexico 5. EK - Glenn Doman Picture Dictionary vols 1-5 6. Music - Trebellina, Beethoven's Wig vols 1-2, The Mozart Effect vols 1-3 7. ASL - Signing Time vols 1-3, 6, and 10 8. Math - Leapfrog Math Circus
I would like to borrow Tweedlewink vols 1-6 or any other materials you found useful for your baby. Thanks!
By the way, I live in the U.S. so I am limited only to swap with people in the continental USA.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: Exposing infants to classical music

Not that I know a lot about this, but I've read a few books about educating small children, and I can't recall anyone ever saying that you should pick or choose any era, composer, or pieces within classical music.
I'm also not aware of any research that has established that playing a lot of classical music will make your baby smarter. I'd like to hear about some, though.
We play classical music to our little boy because we want him to know, like, and eventually to play classical music. That's all.
Our reasons for playing classical music to our daughter are the same as DadDude's. I found the following website very helpful with its guidelines and recommended materials for teaching music using the Doman method. http://www.childandme.com/teach-your-child-music-doman-method/

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Pimsleur program

hi tobias,
i also have the french and spanish little pim dvds as well as baby's first words cds in french and spanish. i was just wondering if you have any sort of schedule when exposing your baby to other languages. for now, what i am doing is alternating french and spanish on a weekly basis - meaning, i let her watch the french little pim dvd for about 30-45 minutes each day and listen to the french cd in the car for a week and then same thing with spanish the next week. i should mention that no one in our household speaks either french or spanish. we speak mandarin, english, and tagalog to her. i would love to hear what other people are doing in this regard.
