Thanks everyone for sharing all the experience. I heard about signing with babies but i never thought it could be that useful. Going to start teaching my daughter, I guess, especially because I am planning to start potty training as well. I was just thinking also that the pictures that pupisek uploaded are great, but probably a bit hard for babies to understand. Could anyone whose kids are signing already take videos and upload? That would be really great! leana

Dears, I just uploaded first translated Little reader file -Animals. If you think this is good enough, please, let me know, I could translate more. By the way, regarding previous upload of pdf for berries, I have tried to attach it few times, but it shows as 0 bites, does that mean that the file is too big? leana

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Teaching 2 Languages at a time (split from "When do I start?")

Hallo everyone. That is a very interesting topic! I agree that children are linguistic geniuses. I have seen many kids who can speak 3 or four languages equally well and am trying to teach my baby 4 languages at present. I am Russian and my husband is Iranian. We speak mainly English between each other, plus we live in an Arab country, so that's four! Our daughter is only 8 months old, so that's hard to judge whether she's picking it up equally or not. But she does understand many things when we speak Russian or Farsi to her. Well, I think Little Reader can be of great help in teaching languages too and making sure that they learn same concepts in different languages. I would also love to hear about other people's experiences. Please, share! Regards to everyone, leana

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: Why only reading and math?

Dear Noha and others, Thanks for bringing up this question. I think it is very important one, as we are all looking forward to developing our kids versatile. I agree with everything said above about reading and math being building blocks for everything else. I would love to add that beside these teaching music and arts and physical development, as KL mentioned, are also extremely important. (By the way, I would love to hear any of your experiences in teaching music, arts and sciences to your baby and of course looking forward to trying Little Musician!). But above all these, I believe, is teaching our kids Moral qualities and virtues, such as love, kindness, justice, honesty, purity of heart and so on, the list is endless. Because no matter how smart our kids may become, if they do not have moral foundation and integrity, they may apply all their skills and abilities in a wrong way, which no one of us wants. The examples of bad geniuses are innumerous. What do you think about this, ladies? Do you have any experience in teaching moral qualities on a regular basis? Please, share. Regards to all, leana

Hallo, Lappy, thank you very much for your kind assistance. I was just going to ask a question about adding a new word to the Family category and it's not there, when i saw the answer! Thanx again. However, I have another question, which I think others might have also. It is regarding adding pronunciation. The procedure seems easy, but what program can be used to prerecord the word? Could you, please, give me some guidence on that. Thank you very much in advance. leana
