wow I hope i can be as brave as you all to let your kid cure herself whenevever she's got fever... Mandabplus3 , i'm not sure how to do it. Whenever she has fever, i gave her paracetamol every 6hours till the fever goes down as I'm afraid the fever might go high up passed midnight... Got one time her fever reachese 40degC, and thats where we rush to the hospital... I admit she did drink alot of medicine since infant. I am really guilty Can you teach me what to do when kid got fever above 37.5degC? Tap body with cool water is one way rigtht ... but I am also not sure how the fever thing actually happens and how it can goes away itself.. I read that the fever is somehow a good thing.. Could you enlighten me ..I am a new mum and i do not know much how to treat a fever or boost her immunity..., most of my friends around me uses paracetamol thus i just follows... I am very thankful that all of you all very helpful and giving alot of sharing in boosting immunity. which i would like to try on some of the suggestions.. roasted garlic, parsley, acerola powder, grapefruit seed extract

My little guy got startled today and screamed qustion mark and free shipping. I could not stop laughing at the words he chose.
Have you tried the classic indoor voice game with him? I have been teaching my son indoor voice and feet vs. outdoor voice and feet. He hasn't started yelling yet but I want to be prepared.
Could you describe how to play the games? Thks

Big Thanks everyone for your kind sharing! These are definitely helpful Hope we get more health tips here ..cheers! Hi Skylark , is the Acerola Powder & Grapefruit Seed Extract suitable for 2.5yr old kid? Rhinatoil is prescribed by my kid pediatrician and is also sold in normal pharmacy. We can buy over the counter too.. Didn't know it will kill the immunity and such bad side effect... Thanks for enlighten me The pediatrician normally will prescbribed antibiotics if the running nose and cough is not cured within 5 days and my kid has been drinking quite a no. of times of anitbiotics and rhinatoil, chromine.. I find another medicine called "singulair" is quite effective for her cough .. not sure anyone know if there's any side effects for taking singulair?

My kid (26mths) gets flu easily and her running nose and cough normally last for about a week plus and when she has recovered from it for a week , the flu bugs attack her again. I've been giving her chromine for running nose and rhinatoil for cough whenever she got the flu...(these can be bought from the pharmacy) but is it safe to give her so many flu medicine whenever she got it or should i leave it for her to recover herself without giving her any medicine? I'm not sure will she recover without medicine..
Got a friend who told me its not a bad thing that she got flu everytime because each time she falls sick and gets well , her immunity gets stronger... Is it true? Even if you give her flu medicine , and she got cured will boost her immunity too?
I do not know how the immunity system works.
Anyone who have such knowledge pls enlighten me.
Thanks.

EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: How many hours should a kid sleep at night?

Babymum is he on a sleep programm...or do you just put him to sleep when you feel/think he is tired?...my daughter is slightly younger than your LO but she would hardly sleep over the da . I just through she is super super active and does not need that much sleep....but at times she would still be crancky....and cry (even though in my mind I ticked all 'to check' boxes like feeding, changing, etc.). Even though she would hardly get any sleep during the day (1 hour...maybe 1.5 hours cumulated from small naps) she would often wake up at night and would not sleep through the night (6-7-8 hours in a row). I then stumbled upon a great book by Polly Moore (The 90-minute baby sleep program) and realised that she was underslept and the reason she couldn't actually sleep was because she was so so tired. I have decided to give it a try and she's been on this program for aprox. 2 weeks and the results are just amazing. Now she takes 3-4 naps (of at least 30-45 minutes each) daily and at night she goes to bed around 20.30-21.00 and she does not wake up (unless she needs a diaper change) until 6 - 6.30 in the morning...... I find her so so much happier....and you can imagine how happy I am . I am also in the process of teaching her to fall asleep on her own (and I use as a guide the same book) and she seems to do just fine. She hardly cries/moans for 5 minutes (or less) before actually falling asleep on her own in her cot....I believe this is because she started associating her tiredness with the actual need of sleep. The book focuses more on the first year of life of a baby...but does provide some very helpful tips for toddlers (for their parents I mean) and the way they should recognize particular patterns when it comes to sleep and handle them appropriately. I hope this helps.... Thanks Oana86! Will go library to find this book Happy for you that your kid can sleep more now!

Well , thanks all for the advise and sharing.. My kid used to sleep easily at 9pm ... until starting since 2months ago, he refused to go to his cotbed and stay late till 11pm or sometimes 12pm+ when he is tired he lie down on the sofa to sleep. Sometime reallly hard to get him to fall asleep... till he is very tired. and i am very tired too... He doesn't want to go to his bed where he used to fall asleep himself there. Not sure whats the reason of this sudden change. Thus after he sleeps at the sofa, we will just carry him from the sofa to the cot bed.
