Thanks for the info Swathi_akshaya....well I have no idea about how good Monkisee is....I only have YBCR and like I said she just loves the dvd...she will watch it with utmost concentration and by 6 months she could pick up all the word cards right (from YBCR). So it worked perfectly for us. I just spoke from my experience. I will definitely have a look at monkisee

Hi Vibes,
I started flashing cards to her when she turned 5 months. I started of with showing her cards about twice a day (ideally it should be 3 times a day). I did not follow the Doman method exactly....because I believe each child is different and their capacities are also different. I showed her 10 word cards from each category. I retired cards only after a week but added new cards almost every other day..so yeah by the end of the week instead of 10 cards a day we end up with 16 more cards in each category. Worked perfectly for us. According to Doman u should retire and more quickly. Every week 1 day is a free day without any flash cards. Just go with the flow and follow ur baby's instincts...if she/he is picking up quickly u can add more number of cards. According to Doman u should always stop before the child wants to stop.
Good luck , Regards, Momtobaby

Not as much as I want to...like u said there are too many products out there...its hard to decide what to buy and what not to. I did not want to expose my baby to too much screen time (whether it be computer or TV) and so we decided to get LR, LM, YBCR and tweedlewink..again I don't show the tweedlewink and YBCR dvd twice like they suggest. It will all add up to more than 1 1/2 hrs of screen time. I have seen results even though I did not show YBCR or tweedlewink twice a day. I spend more time on flashcards ....ONE THING I REALLY WANT TO CONCENTRATE ON IS READING TO HER...I AM NOT DOING MUCH READING TO HER.....AND ALSO TALKING TO HER.....
Well if your baby enjoys music why not get him trebellina...I have heard a lot of good comments here on that product. However, I have decided to stick with just classical cd's for the time being. I bought Baby einstein dvd's too...but decided to wait until she is a bit older to show those. YBCR works just great for us.....she just loves it.
LR is also working well for us. She loves to see the kids in the lessons. She is also picking on certain words. I mean she is understanding the meaning of certain words now. What have u started ur baby on so far?

Hey Amelia.....ohhh wish u were here in NSW ....hahahha....I don't know anyone here who is into early learning community. Yeah I started my baby on early learning about 2 months back....our prog in a day is as follows:
- YBCR (2 twice or sometimes just once) - Word flash (different categories) - EK flash (Different categories) - LR & LM - Tweedlewink (1 time) - We play classical music in the background throughout the day -Once a week swimming -Planning to start gymbaroo once a week too
What abt u ....what's ur schedule like? Are u working or SAHM?

Hi NewMom27,
I am so sorry to hear that ur mood was spoilt by the pricey shipping charge. I would suggest you just but the downloadable pack and then make your own corresponding flash cards. I am more than happy to help u through as to how to prepare flash cards (professional looking one). Its very easy if u have a printer and a laminating maching (again laminating machines are v cheap).
Last time u asked me about how I am teaching my baby EK cards...this is how: In 1 sitting : 1. Quickly flash category 1 cards (10 - 12 cards) , category 1 for us is wild animals 2. then 10-12 category 2 cards , category 2 is vegetables 3. 10-12 category 3, category 3 is fruits So u can just make these different categories and in a day u can show about 6 different categories (less or more depending on how quickly the baby pick up). Each category will have 10-12 cards. I normally retire 2 cards and add 2 more every other day. U have to show all the cards alltogether 3 times in a day. I sometimes show them only twice. Please make sure that when u pronounce the word ...u say it loud and clear. I also make it fun....like for eg: when i show the card 'dog' i say...dog....woof woof....so she also relates to the sound. We just started on the fact cards now (thats what i call them).....for the fact cards....i just started of with 1 card .....flash it and then read the 10 facts quickly before the baby loose concentration.
Good luck, Regards, Momtobaby

Wowww Mom2Bee...that's just amazing that you have planned everything out so methodically for ur future kids...u are an example for all those moms out there who neglect their kids and illtreat them. I can't wait for u to be a mom....and am sure whoever marries u will be one lucky man.....becoz his babies are going to make him proud oneday all becoz of u . Make sure u follow all the prenatal care well...like they say to produce the best possible egg and sperm u should start planning 3 months before conception. I did a lot of research in this area (good preconception care can produce good eggs and good sperm and therefore good babies). I have written my exp in my blog....if u would like to have a look.
