Zoe22,
Thank you for your feedback. My daughter is 3 and a half months old. I got the baby HOP, but I'm just not quit sure how it will work long term. I started using it about two weeks ago. It just feels is the same stuff over and over and I'm affraid she is going to lose interest in it. I have to say Valerie loves the Itsy bitsy spider song and loves it when I do the moves with the song. How often do you play it to your kids? I just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.
Thanks again!

Ayesha,
Hello again! It seems I'm following you everywhere! I'm just doing as much research as I can to kind of put together a plan to teach my daughter different languages besides teaching her to read. Thank you so much for the information you have posted in different forums.
I have a questions for you. How do you organize your day with your children? Meaning if you teach them something different every day of the week or if you have a daily rutine. I'm just not sure how to make time between work, the baby, doing research and putting the materials (it sound overwhelming just typing it)
I would really appreciate your or KL's guidence.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Everyone! I'm 31 and I had my daughter when I was 30. She is 3 and a half months old. Honestly I never thought I was going to enjoy mothehood so much. I guess God knew better. We definetly want to have a second child and we would like to have them close in age. My brother and I are 7 years apart and it was a dissaster! Growig up we never got along because we were in different stages of our lives. Now, he is 23 and we have a great relationship, but it took about 20 yrs to get there. I have to say because of him I can't see my daughter without a sibling. Regarding moms that had their kids when they were young, I say you go girls! My mom had me when she was 16 (needless to say it was not a planned pregnancy) I know it was hard on her and I appreaciate all the sacrifices she made to raise me well. I know it is not the ideal situation, but it has her positive sides like having a great relationship. I love my mom still young and has a full life ahead of her. I guess she will just now do somethings I did before I had my baby. And for the ones that waited a bit longer, I say, we go girls! As everyting it has it positives and negatives, but all of us are trying to do what is best for our kids. That is why we are in this website right? Cheers to all of us!

My native language is Spanish, my husband's English and we would like to introduce our baby to a third and maybe a fourth language at the same time. I'm wondering if there are people that speak a different language and will be willing to create the slides with the translation and the correct pronunciation. I was thinking someone that has create a presentation in English and is willing to share it, can share it in a format so we can add the translation in a couple of languages. We will leave it as a pp file so people can delete the slides they do not want to use. Maybe the moderators of the site have a better idea on how to do this. This is my first thought and would love to hear from other people. Off coure I'll be happy to do the Spanish slides!

Thanks to everyone for their input. It has been very helpful. I have not bought LR. I just downloaded the LR lite to see how it works.
Based on the information in the website Ayesha gave us, you should not teach your baby a language you do not know, but based on princessclem post her kids are doing very well with their French. So I'm still a little bit confused there.
Princessclem,
When you show them the flashcard, you pronounce the word in English, but what do you do when the french word comes up?
Everyone,
Since all of us are into languages, what do you think about just creating a separate topic so we pick a list of words and each of us creates a slide with that word and its pronunciation in the second language we are teaching our kids? This may help all of us so they have the right pronunciation. Each person could pick which ones they want to use. I'll love to get your feedback on this idea.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Does anyone know what flash card method to use when teaching two languages?

My native language is Spanish and my husband's is English. We live in the States, but want to make sure our daughter is fully bilingual. I want to use the flash cards method with both languages, but I'm not sure if I should show the flash cards first in one language and immediatly after to show them to her in the second language or I should do it in different days. Also, I'm not sure if I should use the same graphics or I should change them. The last question would be if I'm doing them back to back ,if I should do three categories each time. This will mean she would be getting six sets three times a day and it may be a little bit too much. I hope somebody can help me, I have a lot of questions and I do not want to waste any time!
