oh no! I'm sorry. I think they sent me a letter like that then sent another saying I was going to recieve them. So maybe there's hope. My church is working on making books and sending them to people so maybe we can send you (all) books. We send them all over KY anyway so why not to you all. I write the books myself. Most of them are faith based, and some are just simple and cute. The church has their own book publishing equipment. Would you be interested in recieving our books? They are not # 1 sellers but they work just as good. Some are bible based and some are not. If you are interested leave me email the church your info. The church is a non-profit organization so we don't recieve any money. We are a small church who justs wants to help fight against literacy. I can even include the games, file folder games, worksheets, flashcards, etc and more with the books if interested? Just leave me a message and let me know. I can't promise a book every month but we will see. [email protected]www.remnantsoflove.webs.comto see some of my curriculum go to www.faithbased.webs.com

I am so glad that you can find it in your area. If I can figure out how to share things on here. I would be glad to. I tried to add an attachment but it won't let me. Maybe I can get it together on my own website and post the link. I will get to work on that soon. I have tons of ideas that go with each book. My curriclum is for ages 2 and up. But my toddler is 20 months and my infant is 9 months so I adapt each lesson different for each child. I take the same content but just make it easier to understand for each child. I am working on a book now called Parable of the Lilies for April. I also am working on still Corduroy Goes to the Doctor, a book that came from United Way las month. It was perfect for my curriculum for March which I chose the theme of hygiene, health and my body. I will get to work on getting it on my wesite.

There is a program called the Imagination Library, sponsored by Dolly Parton, and conducted by United Way. If you sign up you will recieve FREE books once a month for your infant and toddler. I think even for Kindergarten. I think it's only in the US, I don't know if it is a state wide or not but anyone in KY and TN I know has the program, but you can check it and see. Your local library may know. Now the books are #1 sellers and are great. I signed both of mine up after they were born. I use this books in their curriculum. I don't know if there is a stipulation on who is approved i don't remember. But it was a thought anyway. It sure helps out us parents who are on a fixed budget. We don't have to run to the library every week. When I get the books I make worksheets, and flashcards that go with the story. I make sequencing cards, file folder games, mini books, vocabulary activities, and more that goes along with each book. Some day I hope to publish them all.

My son learns a few words each week. I keep adding to his vocabulary. For the first time he said his uncles name. He was watching him out the window. He also answered his dad today with yeah and shaking his head yes. It surprised his dad, but me he does it all the time. We love watching our son growing up so fast. And my infant thanks to crawling exercises can now sit up on his own. He can actually sit up from his back. To us this is great. My toddler now says and recognise lots of words thanks to the flashcard system.

Good question. I was just doing this. I think laminating would work but cold lamination not hot for it will melt the paint. I think the best thing is to take a picture or scan the art work and throw the original away due to bugs but if you wanted to keep the original you can sprinkle salt on it while it is still wet to avoid ants, then spray a thin varnish on it, you can get it at the local craft store. It's like a glaze that you spray on. It would hold everything together. I think that if I can scan the artwork that way I can save it and print it or i can even publish my little ones art work some day. People pay money for cover art to publish their books. You never know what the future holds for our little ones' artwork.

Thanks! Some many people and schools have different guides that they go by, some schools allow something to slack on than other skills. I like using this guide for my homeschool. Thanks for sharing, this i'm sure it helped a lot of homeschoolers. I wished i would have found this site earlier, I love all of the resources and help, and tips. Plus the software is great too.

Well it's okay for him to put it in his mouth, just make sure to rinse his teeth off after use. I started out saying the paint belongs on the paper instead in your mouth over and over and demonstrate painting again over and over. It takes some repetitious work but he finaly got it, but i think that it is something that is grown out of eventually. Sometimes i take my sons hand and paint for him, assisting him on what to do. We paint with all kinds of things; ribbons, band aides, yarn, strips of paper, brushes, hair brushes, toys, cars, golf ball, feathers, things that won't ruin, we even use wooden massage toys that look like cars, we use cut potatoes. Be positive to him, instead of saying no, don't, stop, please don't try to say the paint goes on the paper instead of your mouth, or on mommy. Mine loves to grap my skirt while we paint, and of course he loves to hand brother a painted object to share. We paint after breakfast while he still in his high chair. This helps eith him being stationary and being still. He is comfortable in his chair so that's why i picked it.
I also have a 9 month old, and he paints putting everything in his mouth so i try to use food to paint with that doesn't hurt him, like carrots, or the teething sticks that Gerber makes, things that are big enough for him to hold but not able to ingest it to get chocked on, like a cracker, cucumber, and some kind of fruit. Then i move to painting with his hand or toes. I also tell my infant to place your hands here, you hands go here, and demonstrate what we are doing. he also paints in his high chair.

We brush after we paint. For we paint after breakfast. I am killing 2 birds with one stone. Breakfast, art and then hygiene practice in the bathroom, that's his bath time as well. Like I said I just found it in an old 1970's book, along with a lot of other great recipes for paint. That ones was just my fav. It sticks to the paper so it doesn't run is what i like about it and the fact that it can be used as a glue as well for stickers and stuff. I use this for painting in a box with a ball rolling on the paper. Since we have been trying it he knows that it goes on the paper and not in his mouth. I just wanted something a little bit more safe then regular paint. My son has a lot of allergies so this works great for us, knowing to bruch of course if he eats it.

I just have a question and i could be off the wall here but someone stated to me that because my children didn't crawl first was because i had a c-section with both of them? Now if this is true or not i don't know but it is something to think about and if there is any doc or p.t or o.t out there who could research this, i think it would be a great topic to research. I do know that both of my kids had a problem with their neck, they had a lot of tummy time but because the way they were positioned in my womb and that they were both 1 week late due to my midwife not believing me about being in labor, that the way they were positioned was causing their head to be shaped flat on one side, and the neck muscles was to tight on one side. So we had to place them on a huge exercise ball and roll them to increase the muscles in their neck, and of course that was a problem associated with crawling. We had to do p.t everyday until the head got round and the neck muscles loosened up. They both are doing great now, and they can grasp tiny objects, and use their hands in placing shapes in a box, etc.

my son was born with jaundice so he was red and a shiny yellow, but soon his color changed and he became very fair like me. my infant was born reddish color and he is now still a reddish color like his dad. Certain body oils like the jojoba can help make the skin shiny, giving it a lusterous look. I know that my cousin took hormones to have a baby for years the doc told her that due to the hormones the baby could be dark, and she was born darker then her parents. The husband joked about if the baby was actually his that's how dark the baby was. Her second child was even darker then the first but soon matched her sister later on.

My toddler was speaking in sentences before he could crawl or walk totally on his own. We of course used flashcards since he was able to recognize things. My infant is 9 months and he just now began crawling but guess what he can walk with assistance, and he began to talk at 7 months old. He now says baba, dada, mama, bye. I was worried about my two with not crawling but I think everyone grows and develops their own time. My infant seems to have more motor skills then my toddler did at the infants age. I can see a big difference between their skills.

In the past when I assisted the children to write I used the grips as well but I think they are a little awkward too, so here is how you can make your own using model magic. First i lightly run oil on the pencil down and up, NOT ON THE ERASER PART. Then i would make a ball with the model magic and run the pencil all the way through down to where you would grip it, then i would place the ball and pencil into the child's hand and allowed him/her to position their fingers into the model magic holding the pencil in the correct manner. This forms a comfort and customized fit so the child can hold the pencil better. Allow to form hard on the pencil or crayon. it usual takes 2 days to dry completely. DO NOT TAKE THE BALL OFF OF THE PENCIL. HANG the pencil and ball up by the eraser ends, do not bother the model magic. After the model magic dries you can remove it from the pencil. The model magic is light, there is no extra weight by using this method, and it is customized to fit into the child fingers. Also in my case having a toddler i place the model magic around a crayon.
The oil keeps the model magic from sticking to the pencil or crayon so you can sharpen it. I have even tried using plastic wrap in between the model magic and the pencil or crayon that works too.
If anyone tries this let me know the outcome.
