And what if the child spends some days at his mom's and other at his dad's house. Will it work having desktops (no laptops) at each house? And if we add grandma's visiting days?
We used real flash cards until a few months ago, when we stopped "cards" altogether and focus more on hands-on learning. We have over 2,000 Bits of Intelligence, the Glenn Doman Math Dots, and we write our own word cards. We hope to use the cards again with blessing #2
What do you mean by 'Hands-on' learning. Is it show the actual object like going to a park? It is not showing the Bits of intelligence etc? I understando both of them complement each other.
i still use really flashcards for everything ..... I have a printed chart where i can keep track of all her lessons so hopefully i will find a way to incorporate little reader

I am very excited on all the products i am knowing through brillkids conversation and i am trying to use many of them but i am conscious that a child also needs time by himself. As KL mention, the important thing is that we are doing our best and if our child (my grandson in my case) enjoys it then it is worthwhile. It all depends how he receives all the information and you know if he is asking for more or if it is time to relax a little and stop pushing to much.
jakim, I understand that what he is doing is try to call your attention and demostrate the he has power to get what he wants. I read that the best way to react in this situations is not to pay attention but of course take him to a place where he cannot hurt himself. My grandson is 28 month and has just start with this tantrum (without hurting himself) but he is watching yo see our reaction. Some minutes without our attention and then i start taking or showing him something else that he likes and he forgets about it. One example is taking him out of the buthtub. Nevertheless we try to avoid this beforehand and explain carefully what we will do or prepare himo for something differente that he likes as reading Goodnight moon or playing card asoociation. I hope this is usefull.
The things i do not like about it are 1. Kids are not exposed to seeing the words. I rather they know the flag of Singapore and be able to read the word Singapore too. 2. the sentences are too long for rapid flashing. So kids either get bored or we read too fast to sound interesting.. 3. Its expensive. 4. Limited.

If you see he is bored, maybe you have to change topics faster and present new words. A better option are the Picture Dictionaries where you see the words or figures or both and in differente languages. I read that it was important to prepare your child in Chinese because it was the language of the future but a frien told me not anymore because Chinese people were learning english and it was going to continue as the most sopoken language.
