With PM i meant that if somebody wanted to contact me, could use the "Private Message" because it was the only way to share our email addresses and the files.

I have almost the whole official curriculum translated to spanish but only the words part. Some categories are very hard to translate because there is no corresponding word to be sufficiently accurate in spanish (especially in the case of some verbs).
 
I´m trying to get proffesional voices instead of my own voice. For that reason i´m spending more time with this work.
 
As i finished each category with the voices I´ll send them to you.
 
One note: It's not latinamerican spanish, only spanish from Spain. Anyway there are no many differences except in some words and the accent.

No te preocupes yo se como uno se ocupa en muchas cosas y se pasa el tiempo.

De lo del instituto, mira no estoy 100% segura, pero a mi me parece que cuando yo empece con todo esto yo les mande varios e-mails y me parece que en uno de ellos, ellos confirmaban que recomendaban incluir el articulo. LA verdad ellos estan muy involucrados en todo lo relacionado con idiomas, ellos tienen sus propios CD's que incluyen varios idiomas, solo que no estan disenados para vista y es lo que yo tengo, entocnes estoy segura que si lo han estudiado. Lo que te sugeriria es que les mandes un mesnaje y les preguntes, ellos se demoran un poco en contestar, pero contestan. La pagina de ellos por si no la tienes es http://www.iahp.org/ las veces que me contestaron mas rapido fue cuando les mande un mensaje por "mother's helpline" en contact us.

De lo del link the Tweedle Wink, ellos tienen un video en youtube de las lecciones regulares pero no la de idiomas, entonces no te puedo realmente dar un link, lo siento.

Te acabo de mandar las traducciones que he hecho, no son muchas, pero de algo ayuda.

Muchísimas gracias por las traducciones que me has enviado. Ahora podré centrarme en el resto de categorías del curriculum.

En la medida que el tiempo me lo permita iré traduciendo el resto. Si hay alguna o algunas que en particular te interesen dímelo y me centraré primero en ésas.

En el otro post en el que escribiste también me he ofrecido a compartir a través de email el trabajo que pueda ir realizando en lo sucesivo.

Las lecciones regulares del Tweedle Wink sí las había visto ya en youtube. Es una pena que no cuelguen también algún ejemplo de las lecciones de idiomas.

No obstante a veces quiero abarcar tantas cosas para Adrien que se me va el tiempo leyendo y recopilando información

También te agradezco lo referente a la página de los Institutos. Hace varios meses la visité pero no recordaba el link. Trataré de ponerme en contacto con ellos para comentarles lo referente a los artículos.

Lo que no entiendo es como en la última revisión que se hizo del libro de Doman se limitaron simplemente a traducirlo al español (así como a otros idiomas) cuando quizás lo correcto hubiese sido una versión especial al menos por grupos de lenguas (románicas, eslavas, etc.) que incluyeran tanto éste como otros temas específicos que no se dan en el inglés (por ejemplo las tildes, diéresis, etc.)

Por otra parte el español está sujeto a una serie de normas gramaticales (y sus correspondientes excepciones) que una vez aprendidas te permiten saber cómo pronunciar las nuevas palabras cuando las ves por vez primera. En inglés no ocurre igual, ya que su sistema fonético es totalmente distinto.

Ello me ha planteado también mis dudas sobre si es más efectivo en español usar los flashes a través de un método mixto utilizando diferentes colores para las sílabas desde el primer momento, en lugar de seguir el criterio más estricto de Doman (únicamente el color rojo). De hecho hace un tiempo le planteé a KL la posibilidad de incluir en una futura versión del LITTLE READER la opción de poder escoger más colores para las sílabas (en lugar de sólo los dos actuales) y que, en su caso, éstas no se confundan con el color de fondo de pantalla. (Por ejemplo si la sílaba es verde que el fondo aleatorio nunca aparezca en un color en el que no resalte bien el verde)

Volviendo al tema de antes, las formas verbales en español o en francés son muchísimo más complicadas que en inglés. Un verbo en infinitivo (aunque sea regular) difiere bastante de las conjugaciones verbales. Pensemos también en las formas reflexivas como “sentarse” o “comerse”.

Para un niño de lengua inglesa es relativamente sencillo “deducir” (tal y como dice Doman) las reglas verbales por sí mismo. Los verbos regulares no plantean ningún problema y sólo deben aprender las tres variantes de las formas irregulares.

Sin embargo el español es más complicado ya que tanto los verbos regulares como los irregulares tienen más variantes que hay que saber emplear en el contexto adecuado.

En las primeras etapas esto no supone un handicap (creo) pero sí puede llegar a serlo cuando deja de leer palabras sueltas y pasa a la lectura de pequeños libros.

I used the Tomatis method while learning French, and had very good success. On many occasions I was asked "where in France are you from" by native French speakers. Apparently I had an accent, but it sounded more like a faint regional accent than a foreign accent. (I learned French as an adult).

Hi Lara. Thanks for your comments. I´m my opinion it seems a very good method to learn languages with a correct accent. If an adult can do it, imagine how can improve the children hearing.

Recently I have been reading about this method. I´m not sure if somebody has commented about it because i´m new in the forum. I have attached an extract from their official web refered to the foreign languages learning:

"The set of languages spoken by human beings is characterised by a great diversity in sound, given that around 600 consonant sounds and 200 vowel sounds exist in the world. However, every language only uses a limited number of basic sounds called 'phonemes'
The phoneme is the smallest sound unit with which it is possible to create a difference of meaning between two words (for example between 'rat' and 'mat').

As it develops, the child will have to both select the sound elements which are compatible with the family linguistic environment, and dismiss those which are absent from the phonetic structures which it perceives in its habitual surroundings: thus a process of linguistic coding occurs through adjustment to the sound structures of the child's own language.

But because this coding is specific to every language, it will quickly constitute an obstacle to learning foreign languages insofar as foreign languages do not match the sound patterns of the native language internalised since early childhood.
Consequently, the first goal of any language learning procedure should be to free people as much as possible from their internalised linguistic patterns, while at the same time helping them to appropriate to the maximum the linguistic sound patterns of the language to be learnt.

To our knowledge, at the present time there is only one technique founded entirely on this indispensable pre-requisite: the Tomatis method.

The notion of linguistic integration

For Tomatis, a language is first and foremost a form of music, that is to say a set of rhythms and sounds. Indeed, every language is defined by a frequential zone of concentration for linguistic analysis, called a 'band pass'. This band pass can be described as a phenomenon whereby the ear is drawn towards specific sonic (frequential) zones when listening. For a given language, the band pass corresponds to the frequential zone which presents the greatest perceptive weight.

The aim of the Tomatis method is precisely to give every person who desires to learn a foreign language the possibility of fully appropriating the intonations and the sonorities of the language being studied, as contained in its band pass. This sonic parameter thus constitutes the fundamental phonological substrata which all other acquisitions (lexical, syntactical, semantic) will be built on. This first phase of language learning, which is proposed when doing a language course under the electronic ear, is what we call 'linguistic integration'
 
Following this fundamental procedure, further language work can de done while under electronic ear by doing classes on vocabulary, grammar and conversation with a native language teacher.
 
In this way, optimal conditions are created both for receiving and producing the words and phrases of the language while perfectly complying with its rhythmical and acoustic characteristics".

Muchas gracias por el link que me has dejado. La verdad es que no había tenido oportunidad de leerlo. Supongo que este tema no fue estudiado por Doman en profundidad dado que en inglés no existen diferencias de género para los sustantivos (al igual que pasa en el mandarín).

De momento estoy preparando el material ya que aún mi hijo es muy pequeño y he comenzado con la estimulación visual, y ahora cuando cumpla tres meses iniciaré el programa de matemáticas (primero con fichas impresas) y más adelante ya con la lectura.

¿Sabes de algún lugar en el que pueda localizar una demostración del vídeo de Tweedle Wink que mecionas?

En cuanto a lo del curriculum me parece perfecto la idea de que podamos ir compartiendo lo que vayamos haciendo, ya que cuando en el futuro pueda iniciar el programa enciclopédico tengo muchísimo material pero que he de revisar y editar (tanto en los textos como en fotografías de mejor resolución). Lo que no sé es cómo se puede dar por aquí la dirección de correo en privado. Avísame si puedes

Don´t worry. It´s my fault to write down in spanish when the official language in the forum is the english. I read english (and a little bit french) with no problem but is hard to me to express myself exactly as in my mother tongue. If I don´t participate more actively is precisaly fot that reason (I must use an online translator to help me with the sentences  smile  )

In relation with the post i see that we think the same about the gender and number at the beginning. Of course when we pass to flash couplets or reading fairy tales is different and we´ll use all the words.

By the way, i must say that you´re really doing a great work with your files in french. I love all of them.

I´ve just started to clasified the words in spanish that i need to translate. I have a list that i´ve got in other forum with the first words in spanish for the doman method. I´ll follow that list as a guide cause i prefer to include first the most common words that my baby hears everyday.

For example in the LR curriculum one of the starting words is "clap". The translate in spanish is "aplaudir". Obviously in spanish is a hardest word to start and i prefer to change with other with less syllables and gradually increase the difficulty.

I hope we can share our experiences and talk about them.

Recientemente he adquirido el Little Reader pero aún no he podido empezar con mi hijo ya que aún es muy pequeño (2 meses y medio). Aunque el curriculum en inglés está muy bien(pretendo que aprenda a leer desde el comienzo también en esta lengua) estoy intentando traducirlo y crear otra versión independiente para que aprenda simultáneamente a leer en español.

Sin embargo me he encontrado con algunos obstáculos ya que si se quiere hacer un trabajo correcto no bastaría una mera traducción sino rehacer gran parte del curriculum. Ello se debe a que si por ejemplo seguimos el método Doman (como es mi caso) nos encontramos con que tras la traducción pueden aparecer palabras que comiencen o terminen de la misma forma e induzcan a confundir al niño.

He visto en algunas traducciones cómo se introducen los artículos junto a los sustantivos para que el niño aprenda el género (que no existe en inglés). No tengo claro si esto es beneficioso para un aprendizaje mediante flashes ya que el niño debe centrarse en la palabra en sí. El género y el número se supone que es algo que se adquiere con el tiempo de manera innata.

Sin embargo sí considero de vital importancia que las palabras aparezcan bien acentuadas con sus tildes ya que de esa manera el niño irá deduciendo por sí mismo sus reglas, e incluso a distinguir unas palabras de otras en función de éstas.

Desconozco cuantos hispanohablantes hay actualmente en este foro pero si alguien quiere colaborar en el proyecto, o ya está trabajando en uno similar por su cuenta, espero que me avise para ponernos en contacto y compartir ideas sobre este tema.

Is it possible to include in a future LR version an option with a third colour (or even more) in the playback split mode?

For the background random colour it would be very useful avoid coincidences with the primary colour of the words / syllabes. For instance background light green with letters dark green.

Is it possible to include too the random possibility that the words was appearing gradually on the screen (letter by letter or syllabe by syllabe)?
