You are welcome everyone.   It is always great to find new sites smile  I love it when members share those i have not heard about.  Maybe we can find a spot on this website to list all of them in one easy to navigate section.    smile

Hi,  take a look at lesson pathways.. You can adapt the k to younger ages... There are tons of hands on stuff for all subjects...  I love it Wink

I do not use just ONE program.  I mix a lot of different things together for both my children .

Hello,  I used this program with both of my children now ages 6 and 4 .   I can not say enough good things about it ... I know you have to pay for it but it is worth every penny....   http://www.readinglesson.com/

We also use/ used    www.starfall.com   (free site)

This site also has a FREE phonics program to grade 2 I think   http://www.lessonpathways.com/ ( we love this site and use it all the time for all subjects)  you do have to register but everything is FREE......

Hope this helps smile

102  EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: Working mom: how to teach the nanny to teach 16month baby on: May 06, 2010, 11:07:19 PM
Wow..... It is sad that your nanny can not do more..  I was a nanny years ago and I loved to teach the children (starting with newborn babies)   There are so many educational things that can be done in a day.  Even going on a nature walk can be turned into an amazing learning experience .  Your nanny could be teaching math, reading, art , geography, history, science,   all from a simple nature walk. Are you happy with your nanny ?  I wish you the best of luck with this situation.

I totally forgot to mention this site...  Love it for hands on activities.  My kiddos love puzzles so this is a great idea.  Just think of the possibilities...   You can even make your own puzzles and use the templates they include or make your own...  Enjoy...

He needs to develop his fine motor skills.   Play dough helps and so does clay.  Also let your son color as much as possible.  Is he right or left handed?  I would not worry about this too much smile   What I did was laminated letter and number tracing sheets or any worksheets that i wanted a skill to be learned and then used dry erase markers for my daughter.   We did world maps,  number, etc....  She loved this and it helped her practice....  I also used colored pencils and crayons smile  Hope this helps......
