I just had to get on this forum to say what cute thing my baby (12 mos) did today. There is a part of the Trebellina DVD (warning: Spoiler ) where Rock Bassey and Trebellina sing a duet. Anyways, directly after I played the CD, I thought my baby was just doing his usual babbling, Na-na-na. He was actually singing the notes of the La-La's that Trebellina was singing. It was weird, it was obvious and unmistakably the same notes of that song (or at least he was going up a 5th, down a 5th, I'm not much of a musician/singer and I don't know the technicalities). I didn't know babies this young could sing, how fun! I may set up a video recorder tomorrow just in case he does it again, I could post the video on Youtube so you all could see. This video has great results, and we plan on continuing to watch it. Kappasweet, Did you post the video on Youtube. I order Trebellina but have not received it yet. I am anxious to see my grandson watching it. After playing with bits of intelligence we has make a ritual of claping and the playing notes on the piano. Hope he likes it even thoug he is no baby anymore. (2 yrs 4 month)

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: When did you see results?

I am new to this website, but I started YBCR when my son was around 8 months old and at the time I thought I was starting too late. (since Dr. Titzer recommends starting around 4 months). I worked long hours at the time, so I could only show the videos in the mornings before work. I didn't see any results until he was around 14-15 months old. That was when he started recognizing the words and participating with the videos, ( like arms up and pointed to body parts)
but now that is over active 2.5 years old, he has absolutely no interest in the YBCR videos, he actually has a fit when I put them on, partly my fault because I stopped showing YBCR at around 20 months and switched to leapfrog learning videos. It was a trade off, he learned his abcs in a few months but hasn't really gotten to reading full sentences yet...
kdhokal, have you tried Little Reader , or YBCT flashcards or only YBCR video? Maybe he is to old for the videos which I read from another thread that takes around 7 month of learning. Maybe he is bored and needs to be challenged with a different method. Somthing like that happen with my 2 yr 4 month grandson with bits of inttelligence. He show signs that make me change to a different set of images and got exited again.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: any link between learning to talk and learning to read FULL SENTENCES

NadaZafar, Definitely I missed your point but now it is clear. i think you are right, babies read normally words but not phrases. It sounds logical that in order to read whole sentences out loud and not just understanding the meaning you would be talking also in the same way. Maybe moms with kids that are already 'reading books' and not just words may have an answer if their childs were already talking in phrases before reading

I really don't know if this is the place for this question.
Sometime when log in, I was ask if i whan to stay a definite amount of minutes. Is there a problem if you stay logged all day even though you go to other web sites or do somthing else at the same time? Or if there a maximum time that you will be able to access the forum FREE and then the will charge you like a monthly fee.? What is the purpose of this setting? Also how do i get that option again. Every time I log, i am loggng out at the end. If a do not log out and turn off or suspend my PC will it look like i am log? This would result in a false information or statistics. The thing is that i invited a lot of friends (so for only 1 enter seriously) and want to know so that i can explain the important issues to them. Hope this was not to many questions. Thank for your guidelines.

Thanks, 2010bebes! K2U! Maybe one day we'll put a START NEW TOPIC button right on the Forum's home page. jdhanota, you should just choose to open/run it. You might have firewall or security settings that are acting up, but there should be no problem with that word document. BTW, you will need to have MS Office 2007 to view it cos it's a .docx file. A button would be excellent. Until today but not anymore I had problems following the replys, maybe the default should be to receive email on every response even though i now there are persons that would prefer summarys or no email at all. Can you make it easier for newers? Another option is to ask for that configuration when you sign in for the first time. Now I am receiving response information on my email and it is great. jdhanota, here i include the document in '.doc' instead of '.docx' format. Hope you can open it.
