What about the online training for parents? Is that good? What does it cover?

I have seen Twiddlewinks mentioned here a couple of times so was curious about it. I saw on their site that they have kits as well as an online course? Which is better? What is taught in the online course? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone recommend a good list of books to start with? My LO can read small sentences but never wants to do so by himself.

How did you learn abacus? Can you point me to some good websites? Also have you tried vedic maths? I am just curious to know if that helps.

Hi,
I have a 4 year old. Since I work, he has been going to daycare since he was 2 years old. I was under the impression that he would learn the basics of reading in school but I am finding out that it is not so. I read to him everyday but now I want to teach my son to read and am looking for tips to do so. I was looking for some suggestions for books that will help me understand how I can teach him to read effectively – a book that has good techniques, step by step lessons, etc.
