EARLY LEARNING / Parents of Children with Special Needs / Thank you, Brill Kids

I just want to post my gratitude to Brill Kids for their very generous special needs discount on LR!! We're all set to begin semester 1 tomorrow. Thank you, Brill Kids!!
We recently finished up the trial, and I am already seeing great things. For the multisensory part, I have been teaching Moriah the signs to go along with the animals, and she has been spontaneously signing some of them when the word or animal pops up! She is also showing me that she knows the parts of the head by grabbing my nose or sticking out her tongue at the appropriate place. I really like what I am seeing in her expressive language. Yay for LR!

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Little Reader during mealtime?

I am guessing the answer to this question is no, but do you ever kill two birds with one stone by, say, doing Little Reader during a meal? I am a busy mom who loves to (needs to) multi-task, and few times recently Moriah was fussing during a meal, so I put LR on (we have the trial), and now she seems to want it on every time she eats. I usually put on a past lesson so if she misses some it's not a big deal. And for where we are right now, it kind of reinforces (mouth, teeth, tongue, lips, eat, drink, etc), but I am guessing it is not optimal, at least not for new lessons because of the distractability factor. IDK. Thoughts? Thanks.
On a side note, I showed LR to our PT and OT last week, and they were really impressed with it!

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / LR and flashcards, both?

I have been doing flash card pictures/words with my daughter and am now looking into getting LR. We just started the trial. Do most of you do just LR, or would you continue the flash cards as well? I have been flashing cards 4-5 times a day, and doing LR on top of that now twice a day. I made a TON of flash cards and want to still use them. I am just not sure it's best to do both or exactly how to go about it. Both are keeping her interest, especially the LR. I love how there are video clips in it. My dd is 20 months with Down syndrome, BTW.

Thank you, Skylark. I have heard about the special needs discount as well, and we are also enjoying the trial. We're just a few days in and getting the hang of it. It is crazy to think she is already recognizing some of the words? I do believe she is. Nice variety of pictures too!
