I use to be a preschool teacher and if your daughter is able to do all of what you say, then I suggest you continue to teach her at home as well as put her in school! Make sure you acknowledge her learning abilities so they are able to do other creative lessons with that do not make her bored.

My son is 3 years old. He can read some but he too has learned simple addition and counting to 110. Knows the days of the week, months of the year, and sign language. I am working on my second degree in Communication Disorders so I teach him a lot of the sign language that I have taken in college. He will be attending VPK this year but i will continue to teach him at home as well. I will def. be checking in with the teachers on updates with him to make sure he is not bored in the class in case I need to switch his pace.

I did a lot of circle time with my 3 year old son. I think repetition is key as well as a routine! That is what i use to do inside my classroom when I was a preschool teacher. I bought a circle time center chart, made a journal book and personalized trace letters for him to start writing out the letters and his name. I use sight words first on our chalk board that I had bought from IKEA (turns into a chalk, paint, and dry-marker board). I put simple 3 letter words such as 'pig' asked him to sound out the letters (we go over the sounds of letters) and we say it together slowly. Once he figures out how to say it faster, he figures out the word! Then I will change the first letter of the sight word into another letter and he figures it out pretty quick. I buy a lot of the first books for the first year readers at my local used book store (but look new!!..sometimes) and we read the books together slowly during his lunch time and a few books before bed.

My name is Michelle. I currently reside in Tx but my family will be relocating to a different state! I am hoping back to Florida or even Virginia:)

My husband and I have been together for nearly 9 years! Together we have a little boy who will be starting VPK this year! He is a very active child! He loves to climb walls, run, and ride his schwinn tricycle around the neighborhood. My husband and I are fairly active so we like to do a lot of outdoor activities. We usually participate in 3k runs for families to keep ourselves as well as our love child healthy! We also try to eat organically and we are slowly giving up meat....slowly!

I am a stay at home working mom. YES! I am able to work from home. I started an online program for parents who are not able to afford childcare/preschool expenses but would still like their child to learn or gain extra learning experiences. I am a former preschool teacher and have loved teaching ages 2,3 and 4! Early success starts with Early learning!
