BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Baby Tapping Ipad and changing/exiting slides
|

Hi there,
I am trying to show little reader lessons to my 1 year old on an Ipad and he is very interested, but can't stop himself from continuously touching the screen, which results in slides going back and forth or exiting the program entirely. Is there a setting that I can use to automate slide changing that would not be effected when he taps the screen? I also tried using a laptop, but he wants to play with the screen and the keyboard so I have the same issue with the laptop.
He gets frustrated if he can't touch the image, plus I do want him to participate during the game portion of the program. So I do want him to be able to touch the images, just without turning everything off or shifting back and forth sporadically.
Any help would be much appreciated!

BrillKids Software / Little Reader - General Discussion / Little Reader and Speaking
|

Hi there,
I started Little Reader with my 7 month old, and several days after using the program he started "trying to speak". He still babbles as he did before we started the lessons, but now he also started doing something totally different, - he moves his lips and tries to "whisper". I'm just curious if anyone found that your baby attempted to speak shortly after starting the little reader, or is this just a coincidence?
I intended (still do) to use the program for teaching him to read, but it seems to be more effective for getting him to speak rather than read...
Does anyone else have a similar experience with this software?

BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / Does having volume off reduce reduce effectiveness of Little math?
|
on: April 05, 2013, 05:06:52 PM

Just played the first lesson of Little Math to my 7 month old and he got scared and cried by the sound reading out numbers, so I had to turn it off.
I was wondering if the volume is an essential to learning with Little Math, (at least in the beginning when learning quantity)? Do you think I should try to see if he gets comfortable with the sound feature, or play it to him without sound for now?
What do you folks think? Thank you

BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / How many times to play each lesson during a session
|
on: April 05, 2013, 04:56:49 PM

I am starting to use Little Math with my 7 month old, and was a bit confused as to how to use it.
So there are two sessions per days, each session has few lessons in it. Do you just play each lesson once, or do you play these lessons several times to complete each session. The "same" lesson seems to be randomized when played again, does that mean it is meant to be replayed several times in a session?
I just can't find the answer anywhere. Thanks alot!
