2  Parents' Lounge / Coffee Corner - General Chat / 50 FREE WOODWORKING PLANS including Childrens Furniture & Toys on: December 20, 2016, 11:26:03 PM
I thought this FREE offer would be great for dads or even homeschooled older children or older children doing woodworking (or "shop" in USA terminology) at school....

The plans are very detailed (no guesswork) so you dont have to be a carpenter or cabinet maker by trade to create these items.

The Free offer includes items for children.

==>>   http://tedswoodworking.com/go.php?offer=nmf007&pid=10

Once you've entered your email details you'll be offered the full course but I took a screenshot of a page I saw and there are 115 items for children in the plans.

3  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Mommy Jingles - singing to your child to teach them skills on: December 19, 2016, 01:53:14 AM
Has anyone tried this program? Mummy Jingles....Apparently its parenting USING songs - teaching your child all day long via jingles you memorise.
Is is a music program or a general parenting program? I popped it in this section as it involves singing.... I know a couple of "clean up songs" ("clean up clean up everybody everywhere, clean up clean up everybody do their share" and "its time to clean up...." but for some reason I feel that learning songs for all different occasions sounds difficult. Though learning nursery rhymes isnt difficult.

http://parentingexpertadvice.com/mommy-jingles-musical-parenting-program-z-nmf007.html

Apparently, it covers topics like:

Waking up and getting dressed
Bath time
Baby games
Meal times
Riding in the car
Challenging times
Transition times
4  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Other Topics / Teaching Children Good Behaviour - The Better Behaviour Wheel on: December 19, 2016, 12:54:30 AM
Has anyone heard of this - The Better Behavior Wheel? I'm thinking of getting this myself as have a few stubborn little ones whose behaviour does my head in.  Dont want to help clean up, dont want to have showers or brush their teeth etc (its a battle over who goes first to have a shower based on who was first the last time- I just want to tear my hair out!!)....Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this system? It SOUNDS good and as I parent them mostly by myself (father is away a lot for weeks on end) and with an autistic toddler who takes up a lot of my time I could do with some new tools to help me out.

==>   http://parentingexpertadvice.com/better-behaviour-wheel-parenting-tool-z-nmf007.html

Here's a bit of what it says:

The Better Behaviour Wheel is a virtual tool that you can download onto any computer. It comes preset with eight themes and 80 consequences though you can also customize it by adding your own depending on what you are trying to work on with your children. When the child misbehaves, they are simply made to spin the wheel to see what consequence they have earned. The program also comes with a CD of reward options, called Wheel of Just Desserts...
5  EARLY LEARNING / Parents of Children with Special Needs / Re: Brillkids and Autism on: December 19, 2016, 12:38:00 AM
Hi, my 6th Child was diagnosed with autism at 3 (a few months ago). I suspected very early on (at a couple of months old when he wouldnt make eye contact)...when a newborn and in the first couple of months he barely woke up so I wasnt able to use the usual black/white/red and other baby intellect stimulation methods. I put him in daycare a couple of days a week starting at six months to force socialisation on him, as I was concerned how he might turn out as an adult if not socialised properly early (I was thinking about Martin Bryant at the time - Australia's worst mass murderer who murdered 35 people in a massacre and did it because he had been rejected by so many people due to his Aspergers and lack of "normal" social behavior). Sounds like I was treating him as you would a puppy, but it has helped him a lot. His type of autism hasnt yet been diagnosed (it needs a full assessment and he's on the waiting list for it) but he doesnt say many words and his pronunciation is terrible. Cat is "ha", pug is "Ha" Puggy I s"haggy, Yucky is "yuhhy" - he cant pronounce so many letters let alone combinations like sp or st. He's had his hearing checked numerous times and it is fine. But he cant speak in sentences or even 2 words together.

I dont know what sort of success you'll have with Brillkids material as my son wouldnt even sit still to watch anything until he was 2 and a half. He wasnt interested in anything on a screen. I havent pushed flashcards on him I am more concerned with his speech, his social interaction and his being happy and not angry (he was such an angry child for so long - he changed for the better at 2.5 years old and became loving, affectionate and interested in TV shows. He relates to Elmo from Sesame Street now and seems more "normal". But he's still difficult. My paediatrician said he'll likely need to go to a special school as he seems to have developmental delays. So be happy with your child making baby steps and try what you can but dont be disappointed if he doesnt measure up to your expectations of intelligence. I know of a child with autism who is an amazing artist and can draw anything from memory. My son might have some amazing gifts I dont know about yet. Just try things but dont be upset if they dont work out how you hoped. Lucky for me this is my 6th child so I've had other children with different abilities to fulfill my parental desire for genius - I have friends who have 1 child and that child has to shoulder every burden of their parents hopes and dreams and really can only disappoint - you'd probably have to have 20 kids before all your hopes for a child are fulfilled (by all 20 not by 1)...none of them will meet our own ideas of perfection. I've had to just "let it go" and let my child just be....just accept that there are some aspects of him I cant reach.

I found this article that seems helpful...

http://parentingexpertadvice.com/the-parenting-aspergers-resource-guide-z-nmf007.html

The biggest hurdle is the anger - the not wanting to sit still and watch a screen and throwing a tantrum. When I want him to do something is not when he wants to. I actually still have him drinking from a bottle (partly because he throws cups of fluid on the carpet) - a nice warm bottle of MILO (milk and nutritional chocolate drink) this helps to settle him so he will sit sedately in a relaxed, happy manner and watch things with me.

6  Parents' Lounge / Coffee Corner - General Chat / Bi-Lingual & Multi-Lingual Parents - work from home as a Translator on: December 10, 2016, 11:34:05 PM
Hi Everyone,
I saw this opportunity via an email I received today.
I popped my details in and got on to the next page and it definitely is legitimate.
(I'm sure people have earned a few bob translating for Brillkids - the different language versions dont happen by themselves!)

   ==>   www.TranslatorJobs.GrowYourIncomeOnline.com

Here's a bit of the info "on the other side"...

Would you like to get paid to translate simple things like emails
into English, or from English into your language?

There are hundreds of companies right now searching for people that can speak
two languages.  It doesn't matter what language you speak, as long as you speak
English, and at least one other language, there are plenty of jobs for you available.
(Alas, I only speak English. Drats!!)

Huge companies like Coca Cola, Starbucks, Disney and others hire translators all the time!
You'll be able to find part-time, contract and even full-time positions.  Many of these
jobs you will be able to do from home, or anywhere you have an internet connection (so, if you travel or go on holidays).

If you don't have any experience as a translator, you don't need to worry.  There are plenty of
opportunities for people to get started right away.  Most translators that are earning upwards of
$100,000 a year, got started by just doing a few translation jobs for a company in their spare time!
(I'm guessing that is usd).

If you are worried that your
English is not perfect, don't worry! Most translators are not 100% fluent in English!

Some of the jobs include:
- Add Subtitles to Action Movie
- Translate 20 Facebook Accounts
- Translate Online Advertisements

And I took a little snippet from the page showing what other types of translating they need (see pic).

Hope that helps people lucky enough to speak multiple languages. (Not me, unfortunately).
I actually did some transcribing work transcribing interviews (in English) into written form from audio but even those sorts of things need translating into other languages when Authors want to sell to non-English speaking nations.

7  EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Re: Helpful Video for Learning the days/months - UPDATE ..NEW CONTENT INCLUDED on: September 04, 2016, 03:46:00 AM
hi AlfieDaisy and Learn with Farley the Farmer I have sent both of you an inbox about your youtube videos as I'm interested in learning how you do your videos.

Thanks!
8  Parents' Lounge / Coffee Corner - General Chat / Making educational youtube videos on: August 28, 2016, 11:43:07 PM
I was wondering if anyone here has a youtube channel for eduational kids videos.
I'm wanting to know how people do their videos.

How do they do cartoon animations and talking animals and that sort of thing.
9  EARLY LEARNING / Parents of Children with Special Needs / Re: Potential CURE for AUTISM (important) on: August 28, 2016, 03:11:07 PM
My son (nearly 3) has just been diagnosed with autism. I knew when he was a baby as he wouldnt look anyone in the eye and wasnt cuddly and was very bad tempered. I put him in daycare at 6 months old to try to force him to be socialised and I feel it has helped him make eye contact, become more loving and more social, but he still exhibits autism traits and is mostly non verbal and the daycare centre have applied for government funding to get an inclusion support officer in to help him. His behaviour at daycare lately has been going downhill.
Finding this thread has given me hope.

Has anyone tried these potential cures for autism? Would love to know if people have had results with MMS, diet, hyperbaric chambers, Vitamin D etc.
10  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Printables pages to colour in German on: July 16, 2016, 10:20:49 PM
I am planning to release adult coloring books on Amazon soon. Some will be  without words and some will have words or quotes.

(By adult I dont mean naught or rude - just detailed and intricate.)

But you have given me a good idea! Coloring books in different languages for kids, but still with adult style intricate patterns.

Would that be of interest to people?
11  BEYOND EARLY LEARNING (for older years) / Music / Karaoke Singing Competition - Win Prizes! on: April 08, 2016, 01:05:36 AM
There is a new app that I am involved in launching... Everyone gets an opportunity to SING and people will vote on what they think of you. This is great for homeschooled kids and kids with singing talent or who just love karaoke.... and for us adults too! (Well, not me - I cant sing to save myself! But some of you might be good singers! Here is your chance to be heard and even discovered! or your child can be discovered like Justin Bieber or Cody Simpson.

Is your child a Connie Talbot, Kaitlyn Maher, Arisxandra Libantino, Amira Willighagen, Arielle Baril, Jack Vidgen, Fletcher Pilon, Cydel Gabutero, Giedie Laroco or Charlotte Church?
Are you an undiscovered Susan Boyle or Paul Potts?

You dont have to get on the Voice or Britains's Got Talent or American Idol or X Factor - and risk stage fright and potential public humiliation...start off anonymously and facelessly and work up to possible fame and fortune!

Our app gives you or your child worldwide exposure!
Our global reach of 300 million+ viewers will exceed competitions like "The Voice". The difference is, YOU WON'T BE CUT!

All contestants will get their music seen & heard!

Please watch this video for details of the Pitch It Real Good Karaoke Singing Competition and like my facebook page...then visit the website for details.
Yes, I know it's bad grammar...it should be "Pitch it really well" but  I didnt choose the name!

12  Products Marketplace / Product Discussions and Reviews / Re: Wikipedia co-founder makes 50 educational videos for kids on: March 14, 2016, 05:22:15 PM
I hope he advertises here as thats how to have a successful campaign...by advertising.
 Its all about the marketing.

He will need to fix his type "mine" instead of "my" videos.... as does Brillkids with their spelling of attachment....that hasnt changed in years...

I did a course on this topic where we brainstormed and were taught how to launch items on Kickstarter and Indiegogo etc..

http://www.fusionhq.info/?i=hhx1fQq4YRs

Our first product launched has 2 weeks left
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/asap-dash-world-s-fastest-pocket-sized-charger#/

Once our campaigns are finished our products will be put on Amazon and sold via infomercials too so we will continue to make money.

But the only reason campaigns (like this one) are successful is PUBLICITY and PROMOTION. Thats what we have been taught.
has Larry promoted it on here?
13  Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: Healthy Living on: March 13, 2016, 01:05:00 PM
I have discovered a product that is amazing for health. You may have heard of colloidal silver?
This product is far superior to colloidal silver.
It's called crystalline nano silver and is so good for all humans and animals that doctors have reported it has cured EBOLA, AIDS, cancers and many diseases as it kills all viruses, bacteria, fungi and pathogens it comes up against.

Doctors tried to get shipments into Africa with the Ebola situation a while back but kept getting turned back...but some patients managed to be treated with this product and were cured.
I 'm hugely enthusiastic about this particularly now with the Zika virus and babies born with small heads and small brains - I hope this product can get into all those countries where infection is rife.
My oldest kids are of the age that they could get pregnant (and I'm still not put out to pasture on that either) and the Zika virus has absolutely terrified me . I warned my girls "whatever you do, dont get pregnant for at least another 5 years as that is how long it is going to take to get a vaccine against the Zika virus"

This is the same situation that was faced with the Ebola virus but some patients were treated by doctors with crystalline nano silver water and survived ebola.
There are some videos about this here and you can research by google to see for yourself.

===>  http://www.diseasecurewater.blogspot.com.au/p/video.html

As far as health goes, its been shown to cure every disease causing thing out there...even worms. And can be used safely by babies, children, pets and during pregnancy. It can be used internally, externally and even dropped in the eyes and vapourised into the lungs to cure conjunctivitis and bronchial ailments. Its great to use every day as a preventative measure and means antibiotics arent necessary. Kills the flu. And can be used to sterilise household surfaces too. And is great for pain...people have great results treating fibromyalgia, lyme disease and chronic fatigue and a host of ailments and conditions.

Here's a recent fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue testimonial:

I only just  saw this and went over to Kickstarter to check it out. Unfortunately the campaign was unsuccessful.
There is a lot more to making a successful campaign and promotion is a huge component.
Maybe Larry can run his campaign again but try a different angle and have everyone get behind it and promote it.
On facebook, pinterest, instagram, twitter and blogs....

Thanks for this information Kessica. As a Work at home mum (WAHM) I spend a lot of time on social media but have never thought of using them for learning a new language.
