My 2 yo son is bilingual too. I have called the IHAP to ask the same question, that's their answer :

No problem.
Tell your child in Spanish that now you are going to learn some words in Spanish and start showing the flashcards / read the book etc. in that language.
Do the same for English saying at first "let's do some English"...
They told me that they are clever enough to understand and separate it in their brain.

The only thing that they don't want us to do is show the flashcards in 2 languages at the same time per example don't say "cat and gato" one after the other ! Do one sitting for each language or the to one after the other but don't mix it.

Yes it's sad of course Nikita. My dad also worked a year in the US and some people would spit him in the face if he would say that he's German ! It's difficult to make some people understand that they are not responsible for what happend many years ago and that the Germans are the first feeling so bad about it.

The voiceovers are better than I suspected them to be...

The voice is quite repetitive but fine.

There are still mistakes like the voice says "Hose" and it is written "hosen" or the word "Shorts" is pronounced the American way and not the German one. "Nielpferd" is pronounced but "flusspferd" is written, "Hemd" is said for a T-shirt this is wrong too ! "Hemd" is... I don't find the word in English... a blouse for men. See, English is really not my mothertongue...

Well, I'll stop here. If ALL the mistakes are corrected by the website it would be perfect !

If you write a mail to the autor, tell him/her that in German nouns HAVE to be written with a CAPITAL LETTER first of all, even if Glenn Doman says the opposite in his book. Doman wrote his book in English and you can't compare it to German (regular nouns like cat, cake, ... and names alllllllways take capital letters).

And there are other spelling mistakes that I won't correct here.

I haven't listend to the voice added, I'll do it later and let you know !

Your suggestion starting with math as soon as possible is right, I've forgotten the "30 mo window of opportunity" ! I'll start to read Doman's book tonight.

I have a job where everything has to go very FAST, where you can see the results and reajust quickely...

I'm not used to the "do it,wait and see" system. 

I'll have to be patient and believe in what I'm teaching him, you are right !

I'm teaching my 24mo son to read (Doman style, but just ONE language) since one and a half month. 

You have to know that :
* he doesn't really talk yet, he just says a few words, no sentences
* he is bilingual (oral comprehension) since birth
* I got him started on english too since about 3 weeks (oral +written, learning DVD +flashcards)
* I'd love to do math too but I have to much work on getting the 3 language-reading-programs working

He seems to like to look at flashcards and shows when he's had enough of a set of words he "knows".

My problem is, he doesn't read any word and refuses to play games like "where is the word cat", ...

It's my first early eduction experience and I think I'm just affraid of doing sth. wrong... 

I hope he'll start to talk in sentences soon ! 

How long did it take you to see some "results" ?

I'm wondering about the same thing !

We are bilingual at home (German and French). My son is going to be 2 years old in a few days and he understands the 2 languages (spoken language) perfectly. I've discovered Doman's methods just 2-3 months ago. I've started teaching Theo to read German first with home made flash cards since a month now, I took just one language because I had to get used to the system myself. He seems to have fun with that... me too... 

Now I'm starting English using "Monkisee Monkidoo" DVD and cards. Which is lot's FUN !

I'm thinking about introducing French soon but I don't know how yet... 

I don't speak French to my son because I wan't him to learn my motherthongue (German)(we live in a French speeking enviroment and when my husband is home we only talk French all together) and I'm affraid to mix MYSELF up if I use the same method for German and French...

For German and English, I like the 2 different types of teaching because it is well separated.

Alenka from "www.childandme.com" told me to eventually write the flashcards in different colors or to choose different rooms of your house and decide that in the kitchen you only speek/teach/read in one language and so on...
