But really, Australia is a great place to raise kids. There's that bias again....

What does it mean when I have to help my wife solve it?!? 

Some of these are really good. Micro$oft used these types of puzzles to recruit people in the early 90's. It was how they sorted out the lateral thinkers from the wannabes.

We started swimming lessons at the age of four months. This was the earliest age we could - and she loves it. Living on a coastal city and with grand parents living on the beach we had to do it some time or other. It just seemed the earlier the better!

I agree with KL. Seems to me that part is genetic, but intelligence is significantly increased by the environment. Obviously we all agree about that in this forum - it's why we are here!

I have noticed that our little one is certainly learning at a faster rate than other children of her age. And I put this down to the environment - she is always being simulated and encouraged. The real test will be in several years time when she has a good grasp of language.
