Hello there, I am having the same diffiulty as you were. Eventually, my kid (now 2 years old) like to watch youtube and she learned her ABCs and Numbers from it. Since youtube has it all (but you need to select the video a little bit), i recommended that you use youtube...with the music and good illustrations, she will pick it up in no time. So far, she learned(speaking and recognising) all the name of the colour but seem a little bit difficult in recognising it in reality...i guess because of the colour is abstract... -ummu AN-

Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Re: How To Teach Our Child English?

Hello geniusqarissa, Responding to your question. As for me, I agreed what you said for the Malay ethnic. But for the practicality, it is a liltle bit different here. We lived in UK and they used English as their languange. And as for that, as a foreigner here, I did speak English with my daughter when we have to such as when we are outside the house. As in the house, me and my husband do think that we need to preserve the Malay languange and identity to our children thus we speak Malay in the house. We asked the Malaysian who had been living here permanently, and they encourage us to do what we are doing now because they said that the English languange can be picked up by the children when they go to school and in their everyday lives...fastly . it can be seen here that the malaysian children, when staying here will speak English fluently although they does not have enough background but sadly, when the used English, they forgotten to use their mother tounge maybe because of the different surrounding and environement, we try to adapt the best thing for our children and for me it is the other way around

hello there, i have een using the walker for my baby since she was 5 months old and she stopped using it when she was 8 months. this is becuse the walker made her movement restricted and she was able to drag the walker by herself.. i just realised that the walker may make the baby progress in walking by herself slow down, after been told by a friend and until now she had not yet walk . she just braved enough to climb the stairs and coffee table but had not taken her first step in walking.. maye because of the walker..who's know, right? but if you are thinking of buying one, make sure that your child uses it and take precaution when she is using that since the walker may make her mobile and who's know what she can grab from the walker...
