I am so happy to see so many dads on here taking a very active role in their child's early development. I wish that my husband was just the slightest bit interested. It makes it really hard.

I rented a couple from the series from our local library. I am glad that I did, I was not a fan of them - I would rather there be more concrete learning opportunities if I am going to purchase any videos or DVDs. Unfortunately, my husband is the type that has to have the TV on for "background noise" and he is a stay at home dad with our son. I am really concerned that the TV is always on and my 3 month old son already is glued to any TV like screen (Cell phone, computer monitor, TV) and he does not watch anything that would be beneficial to our son.

I am really excited to start early learning with my son, but my husband is not convinced. I am a working mom and he stays at home with the little man. I am already really busy when I do have the time at home with my little one and am struggling to figure out how I might be able to do this (alone) with so little time. I am also worried whether my husband's lack of support and willingness to participate in this learning will at all impact the success we might have.

It is very hard for me because I come from a family where education is very important (and my siblings and I were always ahead of the learning and developmental curves) and my husband comes from a family where education is not important and graduating from high school in 4 years (I live in the US) is a HUGE accomplishment.

I am wondering if anyone else might have run into similar roadblocks and how they were able to overcome or work through them.

I have been exclusively breastfeeding my little boy and for us, the first 8 weeks were awful. It took us that long to finally get it together. I am so glad that I stuck it out though. He is certainly not a fussy baby and eats on demand. I love not having to cart around formula and bottles.

I go for walks every day.

I have started taking photographs of letters that make up my son's name. For instance, I took a photo of the "L" in the Hollywood sign, the "O" in an Old Navy sign, a really cool "C" from a local coffee shop's sign, etc. I am going to frame each letter and hang them over his crib so it spells his name!

I have not yet started the program, but am looking in to it for my son who is currently 3 months old. I think that I will use photos for his flashcards. I think it is a better link to what he will see in real life.
