Musical background - Played instruments since I was 3 years old. Starting with piano for 10 years, then violin for now 20 years (play in the symphony). I also have sung in many choirs. Can also play guitar, cello, viola. I can read multiple clefs.

Can't wait to start formally teaching my daughter! She already loves piano and guitar. Thanks!

I bought her curriculum pack for toddlers through ebay on April 19th. I asked her several questions before I purchased and she always answered within 6 hours of me emailing her and even sent me samples. She warned me that the less expensive shipping had been slow for people in the past and I received it today (in Alaska). So shipping wasn't terrible. I also emailed her while waiting for the package and again today after I received it with basic questions and she was very prompt in responding every time. Within the hour.

So I would suggest emailing through ebay. And I've nothing but a positive experience.

If you just google their name you'll find there are many many many many other people who have received letters just like you. I've read a few of them and the advice is always the same. Ignore them.

I was thinking about going this route as well with K12. I'll use it to make sure all the basics are covered (it certainly helps that it's free) and supplement with whatever I want.

I'm interested to see what others have to say...

I've been using Splashtop for this exact thing and it works very well. Just wish it was better not over the same wifi connection. The smaller screen doesn't matter because everything just shrinks to size.

to lizaveta: I downloaded a program called alpha baby. There's one for the computer, ipad and iphone. If one of my devices is going to be out of my hands directly and Avery might get into it, I just make sure Alpha baby is on. Then she can bang away on the screen/keyboard with no chance of getting out of alpha baby and it teaches her letters/numbers/shapes/colors and you can add your own images and record you voice to describe what the picture is. Avery loves it and it finally saves me from having apps deleted/things renamed etc. You should check it out...

aangeles - How did you build up to that kind of program? My daughter is 12 months old and I am wondering what kinds of things you were doing at that age?

We are currently doing LR and LM twice a day during mealtime. We also watch a lot of Little Pim, Muzzy, Baby Einstein and Baby Signing Time. I play violin, guitar, piano and sing, so I let her watch me play and let her play with the instruments. We read a TON because books are her favorite thing I have music playing all day long and we sing a lot. We also frequently go to the library, Imaginarium, and swimming.

I plan on starting TweedleWink after we get it for Christmas Within the next few years we'll be starting Piano Wizard, Suzuki Violin, Jones Geniuses, dance classes, TheoryTime, Signing Time, Math with the Abacus, and Wink. Plus whatever else I find out about in that time!   

Is she serious?? ^^ I really wish there was a way to block people's posts because I keep trying to find info about teaching my child piano on this forum and keep running into a barrage of posts/novels from you know who. Just give it a rest already! ugh...

Swim lessons is one thing I've got covered! My DH and I were both professional swimmers I'm very excited about taking her in the water!

So I'm planning on getting LR and LM (and hopefully LMusician) when my baby is 4 months old. My question is, is there a good likelihood that we will be able to get through everything in 12 months? I am afraid of getting to the end and realizing we don't have enough time...

Also, if we only have 12 months, would 4-16 months be the best time to use it? Even though she wouldn't be able to start doing much until she's about 10 months old? Would those first 6 months be kind of wasted and we be at a disadvantage? Would it be better to wait until 9 or 10 months?

Oh BTW, I was able to get a friend to send me a copy of Windows so I'll be able to use LR, LM and LittleMusician (when it comes out). OMG, I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
