Products Marketplace / Product Discussions and Reviews / Re: Baby running around during YBCR

Yeah, I'm not sure that the high chair would work because he would try to squirm out of there. I'll see what it's like this weekend.
I'm looking and it looks like my baby got bored after 3 weeks of the previous video as well. It might be time to switch the video to the next level. I'm going to try to quiz him, but quizzing a toddler is no easy task. It's all about finding the right moment. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My baby has been having more trouble sitting still during the YBCR videos. I tried out an experiment. I turned off the video when he decided to get up, and about 5 minutes later, he came back and signalled that he wanted the video back on.
Has anybody else had this problem? The problem is that he's not watching the whole video from begin to end because he needs to run around.
One more thing, he's 17 months.

A friend of mine gave me the YBCR DVD's. I've been very happy with it. We started my baby at 16 months. It helped him increase his vocabulary / understanding. I show him flash cards from Monki See whenever I can and I feel that helps him too.

Products Marketplace / Product Discussions and Reviews / When to move on to next level in YBCR?

According to YBCR, you should show the second DVD from 4 - 8 weeks, "depending on your child's ability". My question is ... how do you know when you baby is ready to move on to the next level? My baby is almost 17 months. He recognizes a lot of the spoken words, although he can't recognize the written words yet, except baby, from what I can tell.
What's been your experience? What do you recommend?

Hello Kappa, I can certainly understand how your baby doesn't like the word cards. I show them when my baby is eating because that's the only time I can get him to focus and not run around (because he's tied up in the high chair). We read books to him yes, and he asks us to point stuff out in the books for him (in his own baby language). Most of the time, I read books to him, because my mom says that she's really busy while she cares for him.
Perhaps this weekend I'll go to the library and get some books for him.
Nhock, thank you for your support. I guess that you always want to do as much as possible, but it's tough when you're working. I wish I could do more, there's just not enough time in the day.

Products Marketplace / Product Discussions and Reviews / Using Titzer DVD method

I have a question and would like to hear your input.
My baby is 16-months old, almost 17 months, and I have him on the Titzer method. He is on the second DVD, and he is learning a lot. He has started interacting a lot with the DVD. A friend of mine gave me the videos, so I didn't have the word cards. Instead, I bought a set of flash cards from Monki See Monki Doo, and I review the body parts with him whenever I can.
He watches the video every day with my mom, twice a day, but I can only show him the cards a couple of times a day from Thursday through Sunday, because I spend more time with him on those days (I work the other days). I haven't been able to get my mom to show him the cards on the other days, but she gladly watches the video with him and helps him act everything out that goes on in the video. She also takes him to storytime at the library once a week.
I have a question. Is it enough to only show the cards 4 days out of 7? Has anybody else seen results from a similar situation?
Any comments / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
