As Patty's friend and business partner in Sparkabilities, I have to add that her daughter is amazing and her grandkids too!  I have known Patty for over 7 years.  My son, who is now 8 years old, was in her program starting at 7 months.  He has a great eye for detail and his visual discrimination skills are amazing!

I know that the Sparkabilities DVDs and Apps have been mentioned several times in this thread as a way to experience PlayWisely @ home.  Thank you for all the kind words about our developmental series!  I thought that I should mention that you can also sign up for weekly PlayWisely activities through the Sparkabilities website, www.sparkabilities.com   These are excellent motor and cognitive activities that you can do at home with your baby or toddler!

The Sparkabilities Babies 1 DVD starts at 4 months.  It's designed for 4-8 months specifically but can be used longer.   An iPad and iPhone app are also expected out soon for Babies 1!  It's in Apple's hands right now.

Hi!  I'm Jana the creator/producer of Sparkabilities.  Just wanted to let you know that even though the DVDs are not in the PAL format, they can be played on computers.  It's an option that has worked well for other customers.  Just thought I would let you know. 

Also, we are planning to release all of the DVDs as iPad and iPhone apps in the next few months.  So, there won't be any format issues there!  There is a Babies 2 app in the iTunes store now that contains segments from the Babies 2 DVD and interactive flashcards that correspond to the movies.  A Babies 1 app done in the same format should be released very soon.

Thanks for your interest and kind comments!  The Toddler DVD has so much new material including introductions to geometry, numeration, fractions, letters, letter sounds and so much more.  The Sparkabilities website will be updated within the next week or two with a sample of the Toddler DVD and I'll also be posting it to YouTube.  You can sign up for our activity of the week and you will definitely be notified when the samples are available.

The Sparkabilities series is very different from what is currently on the market.  They are based on the brain science of the PlayWisely method and are specifically designed for developmental stages.  So, yes, the Babies 2 DVD might be a little baby-ish for an 18 month old.  Sparkabilities isn't designed to "teach" but rather to help establish the neural foundation for later learning.  You can learn more about PlayWisely @ www.playwisely.com.   We have a Toddler DVD coming out within the next couple of weeks as well as an iPhone app based on the Babies 2 DVD coming out soon.  The app has segments of the DVD along with flashcards that the child and parent can interact with.
