Make her food soft and tasty. For vege, Dr. says if they eat enough fruit at this age, they will be fine. I give her "juice" (V8 vege juice) if there aren't many vege in her meal. Slow cook is always good too. It doesn't take much time and everything is soft and tasty. Ideally, she should feeding herself. How about starting with some easy to grab crackers, cheese sticks, fruit chucks and such at snack time? Some of my friends had the holding on their food when they were little and they were all fed by parents. Some of them can hold up to an hour.

i bought the "Leap Frog Laptop " for my 2 yo niece. I dont' know if she'll like it, I didnt' give it to her yet, but it does have nice reviews from Amazon.com
She has a laptop which she only uses in my car. She can push buttons and that's about it. I might look into leapfrog tho. Thanks for the suggestion. I made a list of things to get from this and thank you so much for your ideas. I couldn't resist and got her a set of stacking blocks from Melissa & Doug and she LOVED it. She plays with it 30 minutes at a clip!

I got some more play doh from the dollar store the other day and she has been stacking them rather than playing with the doh. I'd love to get some more tools for her. Doll house, doll bed, doll accessories are on the list! She has two dolls but not really into them at the moment. I just want to get her EVERYTHING! Oh My mother...her grandma got her games like candy land...and memory. Which I think are really great also. She also got her this huge canister of Play Doh at Target it has a lot of different molds and cutters like abc and numbers and shapes and other fun things and it was only twenty dollars, which I think was a pretty good buy for all that you get with it. Dolls and Little People are a love for my daughter. There are so many great things!

Really great ideas! I was at the dollar store yesterday and can't help but bought some activity stuffs and decorations for her soon to be play room. Do you mind to share where you can get the "I can cut, I can paste and I can fold First Kumon books"? She showed some interest in scissors lately so I am wondering if I should get that?! Lego was on my list too! Grandparent's house has some for her to play with. She is not totally into it and makes huge mess! I think I will wait on that. She has a trike too... Thanks a lot for sharing! Kama to you! I am putting together this list to that other people know what to get for her birthday as well as Christmas (3 months apart). Those are some great ideas! Def. going to check out some Montessori stuff! I am putting together a craft box for my son's second birthday. Crayons, dot paint, more pom poms etc.
I am getting him the I can cut, I can paste and I can fold First Kumon books. With some safety scissors.
He will also get some more montessori stuff, like montessori bells, a set of knobbed cylinders, and a nuts and bolts set. Well will make what we can.
We will get him some more duplo (double sized legos) they are smaller and stay together better than the mega blocks. My son has a few and he loves them.
He also loves his wooden fruit and veggies, especially the ones that he can cut. My son's are plan toys and haba. But M&D make a version.
He has a few of the Mini Masters books an I will get him the rest of them.
My son has a balance bike, but my husband wants to get him a trike.
A help me dress doll or monkey that has snaps, zippers, shoes to tie, buttons etc.
My son has a birthday within 10 days of Christmas so I have to split these toys between the 2. So it seems like more than it is.

I was thinking about the globe puzzle, wasn't sure how she would handle it yet. SO it has been pushed to year 3 or 4. She's got guitar, zoo membership already. Spoiled... Thank you so much for taking the time and share tho! Our girl got her first real Children's Bible for her 2nd Birthday, that was a hit over all other presents, and she is still asking to read her Birthday Bible every evening ( 6 months later). We also complimented it with some Bible Themed activities - Melissa and Dough Noahs Ark Shape sorter, Bible themed alphabet cards, Great Adventures dual language DVD, etc. Another thing that she loved and was perfect present for her age is huge world map floor mat puzzle http://www.amazon.com/Plasmart-World-Map-60-2dpc-2e-Puzzle/dp/B000HZWWHMLittle guitar - that was a great idea, since our daddy is a musician and she pretend plays with him a lot, and getting some real cords down in the process, we were not teaching her cords yet in any structured manner but she is trying on her own Microfone - it is a real mike, but we got one specially for her, that she can play with ( and it does work when plugged in, so it was inspiring her to sing and perform) Doctor play set and Play dishes/foods for pretend play Zoo membership Books, books, books -- she loves reading so new books were something we got together for her Birthday Just some ideas that worked for us (We did not do it on the same day all the presents, as some of them came as gifts from our relatives far away, an it was funner in our situation to let her enjoy one of the gifts and then have another one later )

She is 22 months right now and I don't want to "schooling" her until she is 2. Right now we take advantage of summer.
She watches her DVDs 1-2 times a day (between YBCR, sparkabilities, Elmo and whatever I get from library) <1.5 hours. We do a lot of reading together too, 3-5 books a day. Flash cards here and there I sing to her in car when we ride We play in her pool and sand box almost everyday. And help me water my flower. (She is having tons of fun practicing her skills) Of course we do a lot of outing too like zoo(we live close by), children's museum, festival & shopping with mommy etc. Parks (4-5 times a week) Open GYM every another week Story time about once a week She is having swimming class starting next week
After 2 tho, depend on where she is at, I would like to design 1-2 hours a day for more structured learning.

We have the Wink to Learn flashcards, which I play 2 sets a day, and as a treat I let him watch the whole 20min of Little Pim once a week or so. With Pim we rotate between three dvds, so that it doesn't get too boring . Occasionally we watch the you-tube Sparkabilities clip, but we've seen it a lot and I'm fed up It's worth to invest in Sparkablities DVD. It's not that much and contains a lot more.
