just want to share my case, my girl was born with a lose hip (left side), we did bought a walker when she was 9 months, becoz she is a tiny baby, even we put her into the walker her legs can't reach to the floor at that time. About a weeks later she learn to reach 1 leg to the floor and try to move herself and we found her whole body have to move to one side to do the movement. And than we told our paedi, and he told us the walker is not good to baby because mainly when baby moving is only use the lower leg and the seat will harm the baby hip as well. Start from that day i never give the baby walker to her. Although she just start to crawl when she is 12 1/2 months , still can't walk until now (nearly 14 months) and the orthopadfic did told us that her develop is a bit slower than the other baby, but we can't force her otherwise we may hurt her. And we will encourage her to crawl and to climb up the pillow to train her muscle.

haha...as I said before my baby was born 2.97kgs which is around 25th of the chart, but when she was 9 months old she is already drop to 3rd of the chart, now she is far under the bottom (3rd line) of the growing chat, and i have brought her to saw 2 GP and 1 pedi, they all give me the same answer > "As long as she is health and active than is fine, coz can't do anything on her." But i still take few months to face the true and not give myself anymore pressure on her weight problem.
And for the snack i have choose carefully, even a little biscuit i will choose the one with iron rich (rice cake) or high in calcium for her. Pasta or noodle i rather use Japanese soba, buckwheat pasta, vegi twist instead of the plain one. Make sure every bite she have is with some nutrition in it.

haha is me again, mine are also a tiny baby, she is 14 months now and only weight 7.4kgs (she was 2.97kgs when born) , even my pedi said she is underweight but as long as she is active than is fine. So my experince is don't give yourself too much pressure, coz you can't force baby to eat or to do anything they don't like to. I did start to feed rice cereal when my baby was 4 1/2 months coz my GP point out that my baby don't like milk but maybe love solid. I fed her plain rice ceral for until she turn 6 months (at that time she can ate up to 150ml cereal a day, but max. she only drink 600ml milk per day ) but is changed when i start to feed her other food like mix the vegi into the cereal, custard, congee & fruit. She suddenly drop her appetite again. She love to try every new food but all only eat a little bit (she only want to taste it).Even now she only have last than 400ml milk per day and 2 solid meal + snack. Anyway i also have so much pressure from my parents-in-law & my hubby grandparent, they always blame me don't know how to cook for the baby and even blame me feeding instant baby food as well. But my GP did told me the instant baby food may content more nutrition than "homemade" coz normally is hard for as to put 5or 6 kinds of vegi + meat or even +rice or pasta. Anyway hope your baby will start to eat more as he grow.

sorry forget to mention that bring her out the the park or shopping mall is a good way for both you and the baby as well. Or you can find a playgroup that you baby can have fun during the lesson and also can have a change to make friend with the other babies

My baby also have separation anxiety when she was around 7 months. Same as you that my baby won't let me to leave her even 2 mins and even my hubby can't settle her as well. i have to hold her all day long, and have to leave all the housework to my hubby to finish. This have last for around 3 weeks and the changing point start when my hubby's grandpa get serious sick and pass away in 2 weeks time. Coz during that time we have brought my baby to visit grandpa every 2-3 days (hospital is not a good place to go with baby, they will get sick easily). My baby start to saw more people beside our family member (stranger like family friends, doctor and nurse). She take around a week time and she don't have the "separation anxitey" problem. Since then she become a "outgoing" baby even i can leave her to a people who she never meet before. I think you can try to let your baby see more people (other babies about same age or toddler even better). Good luck to you

EARLY LEARNING / Prenatal Education / Special case about using Babyplus....please share your experince
|
on: November 05, 2008, 05:01:06 PM

Hi everyone, i did use Babyplus during my pregnancy. And now my baby girl is 10 months old, and everyone told me i do have a very clam baby. But actually my baby both middle ears are block by fluid since birth. She did 4th hearing test and all show her ears are still block but may able to hear lound sound. But we find sometime she can copy what we said, and she can pronoun "PAPA" "MAMA" when she was 6 months old. We notice that she never cry when she is with other babies crying. My hubby and I both beliver she can hear but just no interest to give response. So i m still confuse i have a clam baby is because she can't hear the sound clear or she really get the benefit from the Babyplus. Can any parents share your experince with me. Did any baby also not interest to response to the other and like to play by herself?

hihi....i did use both flash card and little reader to teach my baby (10 months now) for more than 2 months. Becoz i did move house and now i have trouble for the internet, and i already give up to use the little reader for a month. I use flash card to teach baby Chinese (cantonese)by only show word (in red colour) and use little reader to teach her english. I will show word/picture/word to her and only show dots as random(without 1,2,3,4...etc).
I also play the "your baby can read" DVD 1-2 times each day for her, than i can do some house work.
