EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Should i nurse my tod while showing the lessons?
|
on: June 21, 2013, 05:23:48 AM
|
well, i don't know why but it has been 2-3 months since i have started nursing my 16 month old while showing her the tweedlewink DVDs and e-flashcard. i found that this way, she is more focus on what being shown. she stares at the screen while sucking on my boobs and i think it will not cause any harm. I kind of think that when she's on mommy's boobies, she feels connected and calm so her right brain would be open to absorb everything well. Do you think i should continue doing that or there are some reasons that i should change this habit?
any advice will be appreciated. thank you

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / reactions to flashcards?
|

Hi everyone, i am confused now. i have started showing flashcards to my 4 month-old baby but she seems not interested. she would look at the cards but would not show any excitement or joy. i'm thinking about putting the cards away for a while. one of the reason why she's not interested i guess is because i printed words in smaller size than Doman recommended. sitll i want to ask, Can we go flexible with size of letters and cards this age? can i print words in different size? and how long should i postpone teaching her?
One more thing, at 3 months i used LR with her and she didn't show interest much so i stopped using the free trial and went making paper-cards. Now she's 4 months, could i try LR again?
thanks

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / How to start with 3 -month- old baby?
|
on: May 10, 2012, 05:11:32 PM

My DD is now 2,5 months old and i'm gonna wait until she turns 3 months to start teaching her to read. my question is how do you start teaching your baby this age? i read the book "how to teach your baby to read" by Glenn Doman. the book was published long time ago so i think the idea presented might be old. they recommend teaching baby first two words mommy and daddy, mommy first and then daddy, letting baby see the words for ten seconds. but is it too long? is it supposed to be better showing words briefly since it fits right brain's feature?
please share your experience and your thought thank you so much!
