Hello everyone! I'm looking for penfriends for my 6 y.o. son. We would love to learn about the lives of children from other countries and exchange photos. I think that would be a great way to stimulate handwriting and an interesting experience for the kids Getting letters is so exciting Our address is 196641, Sadovaya Str, 2 corp 3 app. 140 p. Metallostroy Saint-Petersburg Russia My son's name is Artyom We'd be really happy to get letters from you<3 P.S. My son is not really into handwriting yet, so don't expect the letters to be long

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Re: "Singapore Math" Method?

We are doing Singapore Math at home with my 5 y.o. That is something I would strongly advice to the parents who don't know how to teach their children Maths (just like me:)) We have already finnished the EarlyBirds books A and B, which are for pre-schoolers and are now doing Standart Maths for grade 1. Of course, it would be great to have a school using this method, but unfortunately we don't have one in our city. So the books are working well for us. My son loves the activities suggested there and the manipulatives that come with the books. you can do a search on youtube and see how the lessons are conducted. It's lots of fun for both children and teachers:)

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Exchange Spanish/English vocabulary

What a great thread you've started! But what about more simple structures? Can anyone help me with simple daily phrases that I could use while playing/dressing/etc my child? The matter is that my Spanish is REALLY limited. Actually, the only things I can do are to say a few sentencesl about myself, order a meal at a restaraunt and buy something. I started to learn Spanish with my child by whatching DVDs, but I really feel we need more. Can anyone advise any books/resourses with simple phrases that could be used during a day while talking to a child? Pleasssse

Even though I don't fully understand how the studing will go, I would love to try! My son is 3,3 y.o. We'are doing the Brillkids Chinese course, and Skype lessons would be a greate addition to that! Just thought that a similar thing in English would be great. If anyone decides to give English lessons to kids from non-english speaking countries, please let me know!
