How far are you in Little Reader (what age did you start)?  Does he sign them everytime he sees the animals?  That is neat    What is prompt therapy?

Thanks for sharing your blog on signing with your child it was encouraging to me.  I signed with my first 3 children and I had been signing with my 19 month old DS daughter.  Then I had read that maybe I shouldn't be signing with her.  Even though I loved it and she seems to love being able to communicate some that way, I slowed up on teaching her very many new ones.  She is not saying any words at all yet.  I am currently doing the 2 week trial of Little Reader with her.

I have an 19 month old DS daughter.  I am looking into getting these programs.  We are doing the 2 week trial of Little Reader, Little Math, and Little Musician.  I have been doing LR, LMath, and LMusician all one right after the other at breakfast and then the LR again at dinner.  Do you think it is OK to do the all 3 programs right in a row like that....or should they be spread out for her?  She seems to do OK as far as liking it and paying attention.
Also, I have a typical 4 year old and I was wondering if I should do all the programs with her as well, if she likes it.  I was asking because of the best right brain learning up to about 3 1/2 years.  But I am sure even if she doesn't get as much out of it, if she likes it then it is worth it.

I just downloaded the LM and was wondering if the lesson was supposed to be done in one session.  I read the response.  Thanks.  I also wondered if it doesn't seem too much for my child, is it OK to do a Little Reader, Little Math, and Little Musician session all one right after the other, or should there be a break in between?

Hi.  I am a mom with 4 kids:  10, 8, 4 and our little Down Syndrome daughter who is 18 months.  I homeschool my children and have just been researching to find things that might be beneficial to my daughter with DS.  I am encouraged by reading about what others have been doing.  Thank you all for sharing your experiences.  I am hoping to start the Little Reader program this summer with my 18mo and my 4 year old wants to do it too.

I have a 4 year also.  She actually has been asking me to teach her to read...so I have been wondering if I should do something like this to start her....or start on a phonics program.  I do often hear, "I know, I know" from her too, but not to a "boycotting" level .    I have an 8 year old in 2nd grade too!  Our kids are all so close in age and our youngest with DS.  I do also have a 10 year old.  I think I will start doing some of the flashcard words with my 18 month DS girl.  I have been doing some sign language with her and it is so cute to watch her sign things.
I would love to hear any results or progress you have if you start with any of this type of reading with your children.

Hi.  I am new as well.  I am the mother of 4 children.  My youngest is 18 months and is Down Syndrome.  I have been reading about teaching her and have been led to this website.  I am excited to learn about other's experiences.
