I agree with you first_mom!  I also wish I could do everything that I have learned here so far - just thinking about the possibilities of teaching my baby makes me excited as a mother!

I have also bought the YBCR dvd videos, and I am showing them to Angela (4mos.) - although I am not quite sure that she is paying much attention to the TV.  I have found that whenever I show her black and white cards in the afternoon (everyday, at least once a day), she becomes very focused and calm; she also likes touching the cards as if studying the patterns very closely.

I would like to make the transition to use Little Reader very soon - I have downloaded and reviewed the program, (I've shown it to her a couple of times already) and she seems to respond happily to the sounds and pictures.

Hello everyone!

I would just like to ask about your experience using Infant Stimulation Cards.  I am a first time mother, and I was able to read about the benefits of high-contrast images to baby's brain development.  I was fortunate to have found free infant stimulation flash cards here, and since my little one has just turned 4 months old, I am making some more to show my baby.

Are there any guidelines as to how the shapes should be?     I hope that you can help me out.

I am months away from my baby's first birthday, so I think it might be too soon to think about a birthday party, but when she does turn one, we will surely get into it!   Do let me know how your baby's party goes!  It would be great fun - Backyardigans balloons, music, costumes, hats and giveaways!

We love the Backyardigans!  It's a children's show in Nick Jr.  The show is very entertaining, and it has great music too! 

It's a nice show where the characters use their imaginations to turn their backyards into whole new worlds. 

  Obviously I'm entertained as well!

We enjoy Little Reader very much, and we are very happy to have found this program by accident while searching through the internet. I know I haven't had so many posts, but I have grown to love this community, and I am happy to be part of it!

We would like to request for the license key, too!

I think that it would be a great function for Little Reader to enable us to make our own flash card videos. I also use YBCR and Tweedlewink which are both great teaching videos, but having video function will let us customize our baby's lessons more to include our own voices and sound effects.

Thanks Anyta84 for asking that question - it was the exact one I had in mind!  I was sort of wondering how early I should begin teaching by little one - she's already 3 months old (our little blessings grow up really fast don't they?)

I began reading up on some web articles about teaching babies early, and luckily I came upon this forum that discusses exactly that.  I was also able to download the infant stimulation cards, which I have already printed out and shown to Alexandra.

I am also reading this book entitled "How to Have a Smarter Baby" by Dr. Susan Ludington-Hoe, and I saw that it had a section about black and white high contrast cards for babies.  I think I was very lucky to get the infant stimulation cards from here - it saved me time on making them myself.

One more question - I was also able to download the Little reader program, and I loved it! - is it OK to begin teaching my baby flash cards from the software or should I stick to the Infant stimulation cards first?  :-*  Thanks!
