Hello, I am re-introducing myself because I have been off line for so long.
My son is going to be 3 in July and Im expecting my second son in August.
we have done the Doman reading program off and on since he was 18 mo. I have not been consistant and now Im so anxcious to get back to it and stick with it.
I can't wait to teach our new little one from the start but I fear I will not have the disipline needed to stay consistant.
I would love to meet some other Mothers(or talk to) near Ventura County, CA, USA...just north of LA.
I am going to call the institute for the achievement of human potential tomorrow to ask for there advice on starting again with my 2 1/2 year old.
But I know me if I dont have consistant support I'm worried I will not be able to provide a quality program for my sons.
I would love to hear anyones advice.
Thanks for listening and I'm glad to back around like minded loving mothers,
T.

Today morning, I washed my dishes and went to buy 237 diapers! Wondering about how everyone dances without anyone to join with them, I flipped over backwards. I think purple platypus' big and fat body is beautifully proportioned yet overweight, though KL said it felt macho to dance with flowers. Fortunately, he sang a funky tune involving complicated lyrics and comforted a bear who didn't have a computer.
While I succumbed to being so busy shaving my legs, I tripped on the blocks of plastic that was not even clean, knocked my crystal to pieces, started counting numbers backwards until I couldn't stop wondering about sheep and goats dancing blithely around. At noon I decided that I read nothing about shaving-cream and diapers, so I shouted loudly, "What is going on with diapers?"allover Fabio's

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Re: music at early age

I have been wondering the same things.
How should I introduce music? other than just listening to it
I want to do perfect pitch, I heard of using tuning forks. Does anyone have suggestions or reading material on the topic?
I made cards with the notes printed on the treble cleff...Should I first teach Whole, half and Quarter notes or Middle C-C.
I have so many Questions like do you teach Sharps notes etc..
I realy want to do this correctly, I'm not a musician so I don't have a clue.
Does anyone have experience with Sezuki or how the IAHP (Glenn Doman) introduces these topics.
Thank you for your help.

HI, My son is 2 yr 3mo and I too am interested in homeschooling him. Like you I couldn't wait to get started. But I did spend the $200 on the YBCR and at first I thought it was worth it. The problem is I just don't like him watching that much TV...I did eventualy get the Book 'Teach your baby to read' and I asked my husband for the rest of the books by Glenn Doman and the institue for the achievement of human potential as a Gift. The Library and Amazon are othe options ofcourse. I strongly recommend these books (teach your baby to...) here's the site http://www.iahp.org/I believe this is probably the most economical way to teach your child, also the most time consuming. And of course this site too. I'm new here also, so I don't know much about the Little Reader program. I have a feeling I will probably end up getting it also Mostly for the languages.

Welcome to the site, I'm new too.
Your picture is so cute!
I wish I had found this site when my son was 5mo. He's now 2 and we are just now really playing the game of learning. It is so exciting!

I am so glad to hear that others have the same ups and downs. In regards to starting to teach your child when they are already very mobile. This is why I am starting for the second time (2nd time teaching my son to read). I first started at 18Mo that lasted about 3 mo before I got discurage and now he's 27 mo and were are starting again. I am determined to stick with it and thanks to this community I know I(we) can do it .
Yes, I think that involving thier toy is a great way to draw a busy toddlers attention. With my son we often 'Show the bits' to what ever toy he has in his hand at the time. He also likes showing me, after he see them first!
We cant help but want to know if they are absorbing what we are teaching them. After all we are putting so much time and energy into the prosses, society teaches us that we need results and NOW! Thats what makes us (people dedicated to teaching their children) so special. We have to give, give, give and be patient, have faith in them and later down the road we will reep the benefits.

Hello,
I am Von's mom, he's my first and only son. He is now 2 yrs 3 mo and I am (for the 2nd time) starting him on the Teach your baby to read program. With hopes to introduce math soon also. I am really enjoying it but I feel like I'm having to entertain him to keep his interest high. I can't wait to read some forums and see how everyone keeps up with there own programs. I'm love my son and want him to love the entire prosses of learning. I just need help from this community to stay consistant. Please give me any suggestions or personal experiences you have on the topic of the Doman methods.
Thank you, Von's Mom
