Hi thechilibuddy, just to share with you, my schedule is as following.
In the morning after breakfast and taking a bath, I will do Little Maths, Little Reader English and Chinese and Little Musician with my 19 months old son. Yes, those lessons are done back to back. I have been showing LM, LR and LMus ever since he was a few months old baby, so he has gotten used to the routine and could sit for nearly an hour to learn now. Then if I see that he can still concentrate, I will continue with Wink to Learn Malay which takes about 5 min. If not, I just go and cook and let him play freely and do Wink to Learn Malay after I am done preparing lunch. After that, we read some books. His sister is at the kindergarten in the morning, so I can concentrate on him the whole morning. Of course when he was younger, he couldn't sit down for so long, so I just break down the lessons into more sessions. Also, when he was younger, we only did 1 session everyday from each lesson for LR.
In the afternoon after his sister is back, and after they have taken a nap, I will do LM, second session of LR English and Chinese, Country Course, Tweedle Wink, Japanese with both of them. I haven't really started Japanese with my son yet, so he usually just wanders off but is around to listen at least. I don't do any lessons with them on Saturday and Sunday. For maths, I started by showing real dot cards for about a year then only I started using LM.
Hope this helps you a little.

Speaking from my experience with my daughter (just turned 4 recently), I find that the more time you spend on a language, the better they are at that language. We speak both English and Chinese at home, but we often uses English more than Chinese at home, so she speaks better in English than in Chinese. Same goes to reading as I let her read more English books than Chinese. Our priority is English, then Chinese. I have been using LR with her since she was 9 months old. I started with English and see that she can pay attention, so I bought Chinese curriculum 2 months later. I also started Wink to Learn Malay and Japanese when she was 1 to 1 1/2 years old. Later around 20 months old, I introduced LR in Japanese (translated the LR curriculum myself).
I can't really do the one parent one language method as my husband is only home at night and most of the time only speak in English to her (he always forget to speak in Japanese or Malay). I am with her most of the time, so I make a schedule like Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun - I use Chinese and Japanese (like repeat Japanese after I say something in Chinese). Tue, Thu, Sat - I use English and Malay. It is hard to follow the schedule all the time, but just tried my best. Often ended up speaking in the language I am most comfortable with - English and Chinese. In terms of doing LR and Wink to Learn, I did all three or four languages everyday. Now that she is four years old, she is best in English, followed by Chinese. She can read and speak Japanese and Malay a little but progress is much slower than English and Chinese. I think that is because I did not emphasize so much on Japanese and Malay. Now that she can read well in English, I am spending more time on Chinese, Japanese and Malay.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I have been doing Chinese curriculum and English curriculum with my LO ever since he was 3-4 months old. Now he is 19 months old and we are still doing LR as I repeated semester 1 again. We speak both Chinese and English at home. I was afraid that I would bore him with the same pictures and videos as they are the same in both curriculum, so what I did was, I started with English first and after about 14 lessons, then only I started Chinese. I can say that he is not confused and he is learning both languages at the same time. Hope this helps.

Hi Lappy, thank you for your reply. However I still have some points that I do not understand.
You are right, I did not save the word under a new file name after I added my own pronunciations, videos and pictures. That is because if I saved the word under a new file name, the word will not be included in the curriculum right? I thought I can customize the curriculum easily by adding my own pictures and then save the word under the original name (without using SAVE AS) and then my pictures will appear in the lessons of the BK curriculum. If I would have saved the word under a new filename, then the word will not appear in the lessons of the BK curriculum right?
I remembered that last time when I upgraded BK english curriculum from v4 to v5, there was a choice for me to choose so that my custom pictures, videos and pronunciations can be included in the new version as well.
Actually, the situation now is like this. I have Chinese Simplified Semester 1 & 2 version 3 in my computer now. My pictures, videos and pronunciations are still there. I can still play lessons in version 3 curriculum and my media files will show in the lessons. I must have missed version 4. Recently, I have downloaded Brillkids Chinese Simplified Semester 1 & 2 version 5. The filename for all the words in version 5 are different from version 3. For example, in version 3 the filename for the word lying down is bk-cn-act-words-lie, but in version 5, the filename is bk-cns- action-lie. I have my own media files (pictures, videos) saved in bk-cn-act-words-lie of version 3. The problem is when I downloaded version 5, my media files are not in bk-cns-action-lie of version 5. So, is there any shortcut ways to insert my media files from version 3 into those of version 5? Anything I can do when downloading version 5? Or do I have to add them into the words one by one?
Thank you. Please help.

Hello I don't know if this is the right place for this topic but I need some help here.
I have sent 3 requests 14426, 14437, 14499 to Brillkids and have waited for more than 3 weeks but my requests are still awaiting assignment to a support agent. Last time I only have to wait for a few days and I will get a reply. Could I know recently how long do I have to wait until I get a reply? I was able to solve 14437 and 14499 myself while waiting for a reply and have left a comment there. However, I still need help to request 14426. My request is as below: I have upgraded my LR chinese to the latest one. I realized that my photos and videos from LR Chinese older version are not reflected in this new version. How to include my custom photos and videos without having to add manually into the new version?
I hope someone can help me out here. Thank you.

First of all, I would like to apologize for not responding until now. I have moved house to a different state/city and it took me quite a while to get adapted to the place. Also I was feeling sick and tired with my second pregnancy and didn't feel up at all to doing anything serious and new with maths. Now that I am feeling good again, I am ready to apply suggestions that I got from you all and I will let you know how it goes after a few months. Thank you all very much for your suggestions. I think I will continue to show LM because she does not reject it, and start putting efforts in including maths in everything we do together daily. I think she will enjoy some change and learning maths through real items.

Thank you robbyjo and mom2bee for your advice. I did not really supplement LM with anything. I didn't do counting with her because I thought at her age she should be able to perceive the quantity as it is immediately and that I shouldn't introduce counting yet. But since I am not getting any positive results from flashing, maybe I should just switch to counting. Mom2bee, I have a question for you. I am thinking of trying out your suggestion. If I do counting with her, would she be able to learn until 100? I mean counting from 0 to 30 may be OK, but how about from 40 and above? It will take a long time right? Will she be able to adapt to flash cards from LM, if she starts counting? Thank you.

Help! I am very frustrated now. I have been doing Little Math with my 1 year 8 month old girl until lessons for Day 119 until today I found that she doesn't even understand what is the quantity 'one'. Ever since she was 4 months old, I started her on the Doman method by flashing her dot cards. I have followed the program from 1 to 100 dots (including equations) and has repeated this for 3 times because she did not show any sign of being able to solve the equations correctly. Seems to me that she is just guessing. Then I started Little Math about 4 months ago. She would sit through quietly through LM even though I know she is not as thrilled to see LM as she is to see LR. Today, I asked her which card shows one apple on the iPad out of 4 choices and she got it wrong. I continued with a few more questions that involves only quantities from 1 to 10, and it just goes on to prove that she doesn't know her quantities. I can't believe my eyes. I sat her in front of the computer, showed her the quantity one on LM, and then asked her to point out the card with one apple on the iPad, she would point to the wrong answer. Same thing for other quantities from 1 to 5. Just once in a while, she would give me the correct answer. I really don't know how to go on with the program. Should I continue to repeat the lessons of the first few days of LM until I am sure she understands at least quantities from 1 to 10 or to 20? Why can't she point to the correct answer even after I showed her the answer in a different icon? I am really stuck here and am starting to believe that my child can't learn math. Does anyone has similar experience? Can anyone share their experience and help me out here?

Oh good, I have been waiting for an update of Little Math. Hopefully my LO will show more interest in LM now. She is in Day 33 and it has been hard to make her look at the screen. Thank you for the update.
By the way, I have some questions.
Why are the sound of the lessons by default (random each playback)? Is LM designed to be used in this way? Should I use the program in all 3 different languages (English, Chinese and Spanish) or should I use the override option to change to all English?
In Override Settings, part of the Display Settings under Numbers and part of the Display settings and Math Symbols are hidden by the frame. Could you please adjust that?
When I played the lessons as it is under Auto-forward, the voices are all cut off (I think because the slides are forwarded too fast.) Should I use the Override function for this as well?
Hope you can help me, thank you. I like the colorful new icons.

Hello, I have successfully updated to Little Reader v3. Thanks a lot. However, I have a question on how I should use the curriculum. I am on the older version of Little Reader curriculum up till lesson 69 now. For the Little Reader v3, the lessons content are arranged differently if I compare lessons of the same day. I don't want to miss teaching my child words that should have learn accordingly, so my questions is, how should I make the transition to the lessons in v3 from where I am now? Any good suggestions? By the way, how different is the contents in v3 compared to v2? For example, what are the extra contents that are in v3 that are not in v2, besides sight words.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Teach many languages with LR, how did you do it?

Thank you A_BC for such a long a detailed reply. I saw your video and it was amazing. Congratulations upon winning the video contest!!! Thank you for sharing your experience and your schedule. I still have a few questions after reading your reply. Since you speak 5 languages, do you speak all 5 languages to your child (btw, what does DO stands for?) in one day? Or do you do that according to the schedule as well? Or do you and your husband speak to your child in different languages? For example, you do Arabic and French, then your husband, German and others? How old was your child when you started using LR because you mentioned that you used it for the first year. So, before your child was 15 months old, you were only using LR to teach all those languages? You mentioned you downloaded tons of files from the library and edited them. So, for languages besides English and Chinese, you are teaching by categories, right? So, you did not started teaching French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Japanese according to a curriculum like English or Chinese, did you? According to your experience, which is better, Little Pim or Wink to Learn? I mean which should I get if I want to teach languages I don't speak? I am trying to read to my daugther everyday, but she doesn't like to sit and look at the book, so I am just reading to her while she is doing something else near me. Do you think that helps? How do you get your child to read together with you? Thank you and I hope you can be patient with me and help answer these questions.

To CVmomma,
Thank you for your suggestions. By the way, you said you are teaching your child French using LR, so I guess that is the language you cannot speak, right? Because you mentioned you are teaching 2 languages and one of them you can't speak. Are you teaching your little one French using LR just by using the downloaded files from LR library? Are you using something else as well?
