Intending to  breastfeed is one thing and actually breastfeeding when your baby is here and not giving up is a total other !

You HAVE TO REALLY know the benefits and REALLY WANT to continue with breastfeeding to overcome the many "obstacles".... you also need lots of support from people who know like you that breast is best

I had severe problems breastfeeding at first, and still have some supply issues but boy am I happy that I stuck through it    and sooo grateful to my mom for not letting me give  up!

The best thing to do for your fetus education-wise is to start preparing for when he / she is born ! ;D And i mean really preparing everything, the flashcards, videos, reading materials, gym stuff, schedules, to do lists etc....etc.... because you'll definitely have less time to do that once she / he is here! So don't waste a minute and prepare & organise as much material as you can  

For me it changed all the time, sometimes the thought of eggs would turn my stomach and sometimes it was meat etc..

PLUS in my 2nd month preg. I ate a banana a day for 3 days and on the 4th day I had THE WORST allergic reaction !! My whole body blew up  and was sooo itchy it was unbearable for 5 whole days, I couldn't sleep and had to melt ice cubes all over just to get seconds of relief So no bananas after that all through pregnancy too 

I was expecting it so I had the feeling I was pregnant for a whole month before I could do the test ! 

I pretty much craved anything and everything! gimme foood

I found that the one indespensable item was a good maternity jeans... Choose a comfy one

Also, there are these extenders that you can wear with your normal clothes to extend the waist for your pregnant belly ... the are shaped like triangles and are fixed at the front button or the sides depending on your clothes...

I just got tops from regular shops in 2 or 3 sizes larger than my normal size... also some styles have drawstrings or a removable belt so you can wear them loosly while pregnant and then later you can just tighten the drawstring / belt and it fits well

it's pretty normal not to gain weight in the first 3 months coz of the nausea and morning sickness ... some people even lose weight and thats fine too as long as your doctor doesn't say anything is wrong

I told my parents and hubby's parents and noone else for the first 3 months...then told just close friends until my tummy started to show and ppl started asking ... that's when it got out really It's a cultural thing for us not to tell until the first 3 months pass... but I am secretive too and didn't want to tell even after the first trimester was done!   

I read somewhere that a baby starts hearing around the 7th month of pregnancy ... the babies are supposed to recognize the voices they heard in the womb when they are born ... so they are definitely listening to mommy, daddy and anyone else around! I would read in different languages too for baby to be familiar with as much sounds as possible 

 I did hypnobabies

For me, well it was a mixed experience... the hypno part didn't work much ... I acutely felt the pains of labor ... I don't know if that was my fault for not doing the recommended practicing regularly OR if it really doesn't work so well ....

 one thing that did work was the TENS machine ;D

I will be doing it again if I'm  ever pregnant again, just to see if it would work if I do all the practicing that I lazed out on last time .... Plus it is a wonderful course for pre-birth stuff such as baby positioning etc... it's great education on late pregnancy and birth if nothing else
