That is cute, my 5 yr old reminds me of stuff to. Especially when she wants something to drink.  I usualy say hold on let me finish putting this laundry away and then i forget and shes like MOMMMM. Kids dont let u forget anything!

I just wanted to update

We have been doing the default settings on little reader and he is starting to pick up so much. His words still arent clear but hes actualy attempting to say the words that are shown to him. im so excited

she is an angel after being with us for 20 days.

We do Santa with our kids as well. As i have had done when i was a child. I dont harbor any negative memories or affects of knowing santa wasnt real. As i child it gave me hope that all things are possible. My parents openly talked about money problems and situatons in front of us and i always had this feeling they didnt have money to get presents. so Santa was an escape from that so to speak. Even if mom and dad were broke if i was good i might still get a gift.

And i dont feel like that takes away from the true meening of christmas. Because we still go to church and foster those important issues in our children.

Just a question..
For those of you who dont do santa, have u discussed how they are to react to it when they enter school. Like if other children do belive in santa how will that go? when they tell another child its not real and the other child gets upset?  (please know im not trying to be objective.. just curisous and trying to be open minded to others beliefs)

My son did the same thing, but he thought when he woke up that he needed to eat. It was hard to break him.

We got this thing it was really neat  made by  The frist year.  it was a two part piece  one piece hooked on the side of the crib and the other part you put underneath the crib matress.  When the baby cried or made a noise it would sound activate a vibration and sound u seleted to play. It also had a night light attatched for those midnight trips in the room. We got it at jc pennys.  It really  helped him because he would wake up and cry and it woudl sooth him back to sleep. after a whiel he didnt need it anymore.

Have u talked to your pediatrician. What does he/she recomend? They can usualy point u in a good direction. It seems like you have to find that one thing that works with each child. They are all different.

Before my daughter went into kindergarten we started teh hooked on phonics program i had purchased. it was a pre k set that taught letters and there sounds. she did great with it..
but now that she is learning to read words they are actualy teaching them both methods.  She brings home these paper books they make in class.
Each page is the same sentece expect the noun is changed.  She had realized that she can look at the picture and figure out what the new word is.  They have a list  called "the sight words" of what they should know and they learn them threw these books.         I like the idea of the little readers sight words program but i dont think that the way her school is teaching her in these books is very good.
