EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / How do you develop perfect pitch skill in your child
|

How can i do perfect pitch training activities with my 22 months old child. I heard its a right brain training activity. And i want to encourage it in my child.
My daughter has this natural talent of singing, dancing and playing her piano. I guess it runs in my family. I just dont know how to develop this talent and make full utlization of her right brain.
How do you develop this skill. How is it done at Shichida's schools
Is it all about exposing your child to different types music , notes, action play songs, nursery rhymes.
If so, would like to know what is the process of doing it and what are the different levels in doing it.
Are there any sites or softwares, that i could train her. I personally dont know any instruments, but want to teach her. All what i have done is, i bought different toy musical instruments for her and she loves playing with them, as she plays she even sings in perfect tune (i dont know how she does it, but she sings in perfect tune), i have never trained her. Since i know its a god-gifted talent, i want to expose her to the world of music, but dont know how to start with.
Need ur advice and help.
Thanks in advance

Also, based on my understanding and reading several post from different sites, i have just outlined on the process ML is done, not sure if it's correct, but would appreciate your comments I guess the different ways to do it To show her the flash cards and narrate the story line for that picuture and then at the end of the story- show her 2 cards choices, if she is not yet verbal, where one choice has the correct picture sequence and the other card does not, then she can point and tell me which is the right one
Then as she progress in memorizing, i guess I can show her 3 or more choices where she picks the correct picture sequence.
As she gets better in communicating more verbally, then i can just lay all the picture cards upside down and she can say the picture or another variation to it, could be where i lay all the pictures in non-sequential manner and then she can pick the cards or points to it in a sequential order As per memorising power gets better, then i guess i can just stop the the flash card method and just tell her the story line for each object where she uses her eyes, i feel the way to do it is put all the pictures on the picture board and tell her the story. Then at the end of the story i can just reverse all the pictures and she can tell me picture with / without the story line An advancement to it could be where she tell me the pictures in reverse sequential order. And further advance technique would be using Picture sentences which is mixture of words in a sentence I assume, that I can say my daughter has mastered LM if she can narrate the whole story line exactly the same way or even place the correct pictures sequentially on her sheet by just looking at the set of pictures even without me mentioning the story line. I am not sure what i mentioned is the right way of doing, but i have just based it on my assumption by reading all the post in this site. Do tell me if my process is correct.

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Other Topics / Question on Shichida's Memory Linking (ML) activities

If i have do ML at my home, since we dont have Shichida schools out here in Canada. How can i achieve it.
I do have a background understanding of ML, but not sure at what age what is done and its frequency in the way its done. Also, a set consist of how many pictures,
I would appreciate, if you could tell as to how is it done at schools. Is it that ull get a set every month to be done at home and then every month you'll just add to the existing set or is it that every month you'll have a new story.
Also are they any rules defined for doing memory linking. - Can i use the same pictures more than one time in the same story
- Does ur child need to know the picture first before i start using these pictures in LM
- How do u'll remember the story line for the picture, do you read it or is it spontaneous. Are they any better ways
- How many cards should i introduce per day
- When do i introduce new cards
- What is the frequency of doing this program, is it 3 times per day
- Should i ask my child to recall the cards in the squence after I have showed her all the cards for that session. Or should i ask her after to recall the cards after I have done with her couple of sessions.
- What is the expected count of images a 2 year old child should recall
- Should you create multiple stories of 50-100 cards, or just add extra pictures to the existing story
- What are the stages in Memory Linking. What i mean is how would a memory linking session be different for a 2 year old v/s 3-7 years old. What are the stages in memory linking, how do i progress with it
Could you please share your experiences

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Other Topics / How can i do Image Training activities on my child

Hi I have read some information about Shichida Image training activities which improves imaginary skills. Its more like a pretend and play activity
Eg. I had read some post on this site, where they had mentioned below "At Shichida, we clap once to symbolize that we enter the image world and clap once again when we are finished with the image game. At the end say "Now we are going back to home/class, when mummy claps, "
Would like to knowhow to play these activities on a 2 year old. How is the story told the child? Do we use physical images/toys etc when playing these games, or is it that we just use mental images and imagine the story and tell it to our child. Can the child participate in contributing to the imaginary story. What are the rules in playing this game
Also, are there different levels in image training based on age group,if yes would like to know how are they different
Also are pretend n play games like a child pretending to cook for mommy, child pretending to be a parent, child pretending to clean etc, are these activities also contributed towards Image training or is it that Image training is also about using images in ur imagination.
Are they any websites or books that talk about the image training activities?

I liked the book too. I used it on my daughter when she was just born. About crawling track, i too couldnt afford it, and i think the simplest thing i did for my daughter to help her crawl is that i put her on those carry away vinyl changing pad when she was very small, that helped her to push her body, i think i might have a video on it, but i need to check it. However when she outgrew the chaning pad I graudated putting her on the mat, as much possible, so she would just lie on her belly and cry and then push her self forward, this ways she started to walk with support when she was 6.5 months and independently i guess when she was 8 months..
But it was great challenge for me, as my child never liked to be placed on her belly.
But i never used a playpen, she was always on the floor 95% of the time, even during her nap time. I would put her on her bed only during the nights.

I remember using the same method of learning during my examinations, I would map and link each topic in the book to another and remember the whole book in a wholistic approach. I remember when i use to do a crash course before my exams even our teachers followed the same approach, and it did help me to remember what we studied, even now i remember it after 6-10 years.
