Hypatia, my child is 3y so I don´t know if it can help you, so that, the interests change with the age. But in my house, when I have households to do, she helps me with them, if I have paper stuffs, she get drawing, using scissors, etc. Everything I do she does similar to it. I never take off my eyes from her. I am always beside her.

I started giving water to my babies when they started eating solid food, they were 6 months, and also mineral water. But we can´t forget that the fruits also have water in them, so the amount of water to them is consumed in other ways. My babies like to drink water, maybe because I always drink it in front of them. I am always with a little bottle next to me.

Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: My son has suddenly started stuttering

According to a specialist, the child can pass by this phase of stuttering in a period of 8 months, it is important to say that each case is different and it disappear naturally. The parents can´t help the child to talk, or say something like: "speak slowly", "breaf deep", etc. This kind of help can be a pressure to them.

Well folks, I went to an ballet academy and they explained to me that it is really related to muscle development, and besides muscle it is good to work posture and socialization. So I decided to apply my daughter to it, so that she was asking me to. Thanks for all tips you gave to us.

Parents' Lounge / General Parenting / Re: Is intelligence genetic?

I am a kind of person who believes in efforts, if a child is raised with a discipline based on efforts, for sure this child will be considered intelligent because she reviews what she learns everyday and assimilate this, increase more and so on.

Two great points: memorization is a way to train the brain and keep it working, another is to praise the child to incentivate, if the child did a good job we must say: Congratulations!
