  hi  i am grandma too .Ihave 8 year old boy. he has been leaving with me over 5 years now . He is autistic and nonverbal.Iam trying to give all my love and strength .Sometimes his issues are a bit worrying but with help from parents , therapy and most of all prayers  I am breaking the ice.Sometimes they are difficult .Ieven asked for help from this forum and I get support .Iam iliterate on computer but  ialways manged .I maneged to do even social stories and uploaded them . they work for kids for special need even LR when i do it for him he points .Good luck and wellcome to Brillkids.

HI Lappy yesterday Iuploaded file social story quiet not to touch private parts in public and it is not appruved yet .Maybe there are any rules which i do not know ?IN the past it was appruved after 1 day.Can you inform me if there is something else that i should have done please .thanks

When Idicided to train my grandson I set an egg alarm to rimind me every 1hr then increased time gradialy.Dedicated a week for only potty training .never put a diaper not even when going out or to bed .Gave hime to drink 1hr before bedtime ,before going to sleep itake him to toilet .At first I used to get up after 2hr then increased the time.

  from my oun files I did beware of hieghts and back to school .I take pictures myself of him  or from internet .

  I take a power point mostlysocial story as my kid has autism and non verbal, print all pictures laminate them and do them on a keychain

  my grandson is autistic and now he is 8years old .Iam noticing that from about 2monthes ago he is covering his ears .He did not do it before is there any suggestions what to do .For smell he was very sensative because even water he smells and if he does not drink it when you pour it for him he smells it and refuse to take it.How can i help him /

hi vanichyan,when he does a bad behavour try not to give much importance try to change it with something good and when he tries to rock tell him to go to bed bye himself to do it and tell him to cover.Mine has autism it is more dificult but that is what i am doing and when he needs he is going alone.when doing a bad behavour or tuntrum i give him time out he is 7 so i set the egg timer for 7 minutes .In your case 2minutes see how you go.and let me know if it works.In my opion ot sending him to preschool for a month it is too long for 2 year old try after 1 week.
