I was thinking some more & I can definately send you the info, although if you can get the book at the library I would definately recommend it because it has so much more info.
I have actually been doing a bit of Doman stuff - especially from the physically superb book. Violin by age 2 though! That's amazing. I'll have to loook into it!
I have always given my kids several healthy foods to choose from. We do insist that they at least try a couple of bites, but do not insist that they eat a certain amount. All 4 kids have their preferences, but generally eat pretty well. If they don't eat much I try to respect that they are listening to their bodies and eating what they require. However, we do not allow them to leave the table until the rest of the family is finished and they are not allowed snacks shortly after. We also do not usually allow TV or other distractions during dinner.
I think it is so important to teach our kids to listen to their bodies and eat until full, then stop, rather than insist they eat a certain portion and become overweight because they have lost the ability to tell when they are full.
I have read that for some children with speech difficulties, learning to read can actually help them with their spoken language. I think it is most helpful for those that are visual learners. Perhaps it helps our typical children too.
I have an amazing little 14 month old dd, K who happens to have down syndrome. I am wondering if there are any other parents using this system for their kids with special needs.
We built a crawling track for our baby. I am totally convinced that it gave her the idea that she could become mobile much earlier than if we hadn't used it. The instructions are in the back of Glenn Doman's book.
I'm curious about the child who drowned hours later. I hope you don't mind sharing a little more info. about how that could happen.I am not trying to be skeptical at all - just trying to understand how it could happen in order to prevent it. That's a very scary scenario.
Hi everyone! I have a 14 month old named Kay. I'm looking forward to learning more about brillbaby and new ways to teach my baby. I look forward to meeting everyone!
I did a very small, informal survey amongst 9 or 10 acquaintances whose kids where having trouble reading and only one had done a proper cross pattern crawl. I would love to see a large study done on it!
Does anyone know if the child will reap the same benefits when " bear walking " on hands and feet rather than crawling on the knees? thanks
